If we're talking draft picks...in the 5-8 range we should go after a SG that is has great athleticism...can beat the defenders without the need of using a screen...can free themselves up for shots...can knock down open shots...and most important, has the potential (speed/length) to be a good/great defender...With that said...this are out options
1...Rodney Purvis - Freshman - next d-wade - has the least developed jumper of the 4...Plays just like D-Wade coming out of Marquette...NC kid...can be somewhat ball dominant...Has the physical build of an NBA guard...
2...BJ Young - Sophomore - Elite quickness - 6'3 with 6'7 wingspan...
3...CJ McCollum - Senior - Reminds me of Dion Waters...might be a better shooter than Dion..6'3 with 6'7 wingspan...weights 192 lbs would like him to bulk up a bit
4...Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - Sophomore - very talented...hasn't developed an isolation game yet...
If top 3 missing I'd go with either Rodney Purvis or CJ McCollum...
It's relatively early, but Rodney Purvis is starting interest me as well. So far he has shown the ability to shoot from beyond the arc and everybody has already seen that he attack the rim with almost reckless abandonment. I concur that he has a similar game to Dwyane Wade and if I had to use a comparison I would say that to me he is better version of 2012's NBA Draft 1st round #3 overall pick, Bradley Beal.
Yes..so that's why I wouldn't be upset if we don't land the top 3...I can't tell how good Shabazz can get...I have never seen a superstar that is so one handed...I've never really seen him drive right...But from watching him in at the Nike Hoop Summit go head to head against Andrew Wiggins, I give him credit or being aggressive...But it looked like Shabazz worked for his points while Wiggins just made it look easy...
I don't know if you can compare Beal and Purvis...Beal is more of a shooter...I think once he settles in and plays along side Wall, we'll see why he got drafted so high...
But like I said, it makes no sense why people would be upset if we lost out on getting top 3...
Ideally I'd want us to get either McCollum or Purvis...and then next year we get Wiggins **cross fingers**
That way we can use either McCollum or Purvis to feel in the role that James Harden had at OKC...We pretty much give them free reign in the second unit...then we move Wiggins to the 2-guard...if my dream comes true...NBA Champs here we come...be prepared to get bandwagoned lol
McCollum is a mid to late 1st round pick IMO
I've seen him project as 12...so still a lottery...I feel like he's better now then KCP...but KCP has the size and said to be a great shooter...he doesn't have the offensive skill set yet...The only Center outside of Zeller I'd go for would be Alex Len...It looks like the mock drafts have Purvis coming out in 2014 only...So it's probably better to get Len this year...and then next year hope to get either Wiggins...Parker...or James Young (really reminds me of a skinnier James Harden)...to fill in the void at the other wing...
I would take a top 3/4 Pick in the next draft if we have a decent season this time round. We have had 3 top 10 picks in the last 2 seasons and another top 5 pick next season so we should start to see this team take shape

If McCollum was taller he would be a top 5 pick imo. This guy is very gifted offensively.
