lakers really need a player like mullens to spread the floor. diop is expiring, and tyrus can be amnestied. biyombo is a young player they can keep for the future on a very old team.

i know gasol is getting old, but interesting deal nonetheless. problem for lakers is even with money off their books next year, they still couldnt sign any big FAs, because they will still be over the cap.

Then trade a 1st for Ersan Ilyasova. The bucks are loaded in the front court with guys who need playing time and ersan has started out slow.

Tyrus can only be amnestied by us. Only players currently under contract when the new CBA was signed are eligible to be amnestied. That makes it a defnite "NO" from LAL>

Adding Gasol would derail the rebuild IMO. Yes it would push us into playoff territory, but it would also net us a lower pick...taking us out of what our main point of rebuilding in the first place; fishing for that superstar. It'd also put us on the treadmill that we have already determined isn't a prudent way for a small market team to get to contention status.
