Default Our play and Gerald Henderson's contract

I know we have played some banged up teams but, we are playing pretty good ball without Henderson in our lineup.

Do we really miss him? What can he offer that a combo of Taylor, Sessions, and Ben Gordon can't give us at the 2?

I like Gerald and he seems like a great guy, hard worker, etc. I just can't see him being worth more than 5 or 6 million a year and I'm sure he is looking for Derozan type dollars.

What are some of your thoughts on if we need him and at what price.

I am afraid Gerald is going to ask for a little bit more, and I am afraid he's going to get it too. I'd like it if the Cats could resign him for a max of 4yr/$22mln don't mind if it's going to be less .

i think Hendo is a piece that we def need moving forward.....by no means do i want to overpay him but also we can not just let him walk for nothing in return like we have with 90% of our 1st round picks thusfar....i think the combo of Hendo and Gordon is very solid and that those 2 are sufficient enough to be a part of our playoff push in the future...as opposed to losing Hendo and having to worry about aquiring another 2 guard i really thinkt that if we want to continue to improve next year we really need to keep our corp and focus our energy / $$ and draft picks on a PF and or Center....i think a reasonable offer for Hendo is a 4 year deal worth 22 mill - 26 mill....which equates to 5.5 - 6.5 mill a year...with the max offer being 4 years 28 mill......and if that something he has no interest in then i think its very possible that we can deal Hendo for a 1st round pick rangin between 10-20....i want to keep him but if we cant and he doesnt want to play here then we need to either get a player and or a draft pick in return....to finish off....i hope that ppl are not thinking that bc we beat a a cpl teams without hendo that means that he is expendable.....yea we have played pretty good without him but just think that if we r playing good without him and Gordon.....how much better we can be when they get back....if u think that getting hendo back wont be an improvement over Jeff Taylor then you r nuts....and im confident that it wont affect our chemistry at all...Go Cats !!!

I'm giving Hendo until about game 50 before I form an opinion.

Yeah, Taylor and Sessions seem just fine manning the 2-spot along with Gordon.

Hendo has the ability to be better than all of those guys, but if he can't make it all work on the court, then we probably need to trade him. I do feel okay about the fact that not many guys drafted after him are much better, making me feel like he wasn't a bust. However, he needs to prove his leadership and abilities in a significant way or we should move him for sure.

Do y'all think that Gordon should be a key piece moving forward? How much money will Gordon want once his contract expires? Does Gordon want to play with the 'Cats once we're playoff-ready?

Hell no. My hope is after this season we swap Gordon for another 1st...that way even though Jax was a knucklehead who had his great moments he'll ultimately be considered the gift that keeps on giving.

I don't even think a team would swap a 1st for bg.. Around what picks do you think they would trade? I would like to see it happen thought.

No. I like BG, but I don't think he is a key piece moving forward. He was just a temporary fix to help us avoid the league's worst record ever again and getting a 1st round pick with it was the biggest asset of the deal. I'm sure BG will move on to a contender for the MLE if he isn't traded as an expiring contract by next season. Even if we become playoff ready I doubt that he would want to play 6th man for an up and coming team when he can get much more acclaim for team that's already competing for the championship. Look at the wonders that it has done to exploit Jamal Crawford's name with the Clippers. BG will be looking for a similar place to make his name noteworthy again. I just hope it's not the Heat.
