Cho knew Bismack more than anybody else on draft night. He had been scouting him for months (dating back to his Portland days) and was high on him all along. The main goal for trading up to get the 7 was to target him.
We all know how smart Cho is. We also knew Bismack was going to be a multiyear project. Let's give him a little longer than ~70 games before we come to a solid conclusion on him
the fact that Bismack played so surprisingly well last season that he created enough expectations to be labeled a disappointment this year is oddly encouraging. this time last year we were still under the assumption he'd be in the Spanish minor leagues for at least the season possibly longer. really he's still pretty far ahead of the development schedule. in 2 years he'll be rookie Ben Wallace age
By no means have i given up on him... i cant ever see him being an all star or even a top 2 or 3 player on our team....but like i mentioned in my other post i still think he can be a very solid player for us...i dont really see him as a starter for us as we become a playoff team over the next few years...but i can def see him as a really good backup PF / C who can get 25 minutes or so and avg 6 or 7 points 8-10 rbds and 2 blocks a game....i just really hope i see improvement from his this year bc right now im a little worried
Biz can become an All Star...BEN WALLACE WAS AN ALL STAR......all he needs to do is develop that midrange jumper a-la Brandon Bass or Ibaka and he'll be a starter...We need him to be able to play lockdown defense on the bigs...I really believe part of our bigs starting to block more shots has to do with Biyombo bringing that spark...Oh by the way...Ben Wallace only became a star when he was about 28...Biyombo is 20...Let's compare him to Ibaka real quick...
Biyombo: 5.2 pts___5.8 rbs___1.8 blks___4.4 fga
Ibaka: 6.3 pts___5.4 rbs___1.3 blks___5.1 fga
As Sophomores Biyombo's numbers are down as a product of playing less minutes and taking on average 2 fewer shots per game...Ibaka however took 7.5 fga and played 10 more minutes then he did his rookie season...
I think we all need to become a little more patient and let the kid develop

I don't think you can compare Ibaka and Biyombo that easily based on their rookie campaigns. Oklahoma won 43 games more in the 09-10 season as the Bobcats did in 11-12.
Definitely Kemba. But I was Team Kawhi Leonard/Kenneth Faired/Marshon Brooks instead of Bismack...not that I didn't like him but he was behind those guys.
Looking back, what if we had taken Kemba 7 and Faried 9?!
...as our young lineup. Wow. Would've been sick. Then imagine taking Shabazz or a center next year. Unffff.
Comparing Biz to Ibaka or Ben Wallace is very premature in my opinion....ok maybe Biz and Ibaka had similar stats their rookie years but i dont see much in common other then them both being bigs from Africa....Ibaka did take a little time to develop but he just seemed a bit more NBA ready then Biz...as for comparing him to Ben Wallace and the whole all star thing..i dont see that at all..1st off Wallace being an all star just on defense and rebounding is something that doesnt happen very often..just off the top of my head when i think of big men who became all stars just off of just defense and rebounding ...Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman are really the only 2 guys that come to mind...Biz showed last year that he can be a decent rebounder and can mix it up from time to time and block a couple shots..but by no means do i think dominant when i think about Biz....he doesnt dominate the boards like Wallace or Rodman ...and he definately isnt a defensive stud..he gets beat alot and is out of position quite often...yes he does get a block or 2 a game and every once in a while has a game when he blocks 4 or 5 shots...but by no means is he a defenisve stud..When it comes to Bizmack's offensive game i think we all can agree is that its pretty non-existent..he has zero post moves and a laughable jumper..it was mentioned that all Biz needs to do is develop a mid range jumper and he can become and all star??...i dont agree with that at all...if he can develop a mid range jumper then maybe he can be a quality starter at PF..but an all star ??...not even close..honestly when it comes to the mid range jumper i think u can say that about any big man...every big man in the league would be much improved with a mid range game...and im pretty sure they all try and develop that aspect to their game...its obviously easier said then done or we would have alot more quality bigs in the NBA...I think be4 Biz trys to develop a jump shot he 1st needs to learn how to catch the ball in the post without turning it over....and he needs to learn a post up move..even 1 would be sufficient at this point...bc at this point in his career the guy has zero offensive game..when he actually does catch the ball clean in the post he usually looks like a deer in the headlights and freaks out and either travels or throws up a horrendous shot that doesnt even hit the rim...I dont want this to sound like im bashing Biz...bc i am not...I am a diehard Bobcat fan and want our team to be successful and that includes Biz...but the reality is that he just isnt a very good player right now...on pretty much all of the quality successful teams ..ala the Lakers / Spurs ..ect...he probably wouldnt see any floor time...the only reason he played as much as he did for us last year was bc we had a horrible team with no talent and it was pointless to let him just sit the bench... he wasnt going to hurt us anymore then any1 else was...fast forward to this year and with a new coach you are starting to see his minutes decrease and guys like Tyrus and even Diop getting run be4 Biz does ..its really unfortuanate bc after last year i was very encouraged with Biz and was looking forward to watching him take another step this year..i was hoping that step would be forward but it seems to me that he has taken a step back so far....i know we are only 7 games into the season but we did also have preseason and summer league...and from my view i see a guy who just looks lost out there and is pretty much a non factor when he is in the game ...i havent given up on Biz yet ..i Def think he deserves a couple years to develop but we should start seeing the progress and see some improvement ..even if its minimal...i really do hope he can become a quality player for us and hopefully even develop into a starting PF but im afraid that he is a bit overwhelmed with the NBA game and speed and that if he doesnt start showing improvement that he will keep getting pushed more and more out of the rotation...luckily taking him at #7 wasnt horrible bc it was a pretty weak draft and we might end up with the best player of that draft anyway with Kemba....so with Biz we are playing with house money and hopefully it pays off
that's a lot to read.
haha....sorry about that ..once i get going it just seems to flow....i need to learn how to keep it short on the message board....my bad
