I have been watching the Lakers v. Nets game tonight and it is obvious that the Lakers have the worst bench in the NBA. Seriously, terrible. They needs worlds of help and that got me thinking about the Bobcats. The Lakers need a major talent upgrade at the SG & SF position off the bench if they want to win and win this year. I can't help but think the Bobcats could give them some help and acquire draft picks - because the Laker's don't put too much value on draft picks because they build their team through Free Agency.
With that said if you were Rich Cho would you trade:
Gerald Henderson (6'5 SG) & Reggie Williams (6'6 SF)
for
Steve Blake (6'0 PG) & Darius Johnson-Odom (6'2 SG) & Earl Clark (6'10 SF/PF) + the Lakers 2013 1st Round Pick and a Conditional 2014 1st Round Pick
The Lakers would get Gerald who can play off the bench and give Kobe some rest and actually score the ball (Meeks has been a HUGE bust) and then in Reggie Williams they would get a spot up 3-point shooter that they need so badly off the bench.
We get Blake who is a much better 3rd option at the point than Higgins. Then you get Johnson-Odom and Clark who only have 1-year contracts and could maybe contribute a little bit here and there. Most importantly you get TWO 1st Round Picks?
