Ben Gordon wasnt the backup SF..the guy is like 6'1...i know Taylor didnt play vs the Pacers...but going into the season Taylor was listed as a SF and on the depth chart entering the season he was listed as MKG's backup...either way it doesnt really matter at this point...Taylor has the height and the ability to play the SF spot and in order to get him the minutes that he deserves he will be backing up MKG

So, theoretically what to expect when Hendo return next week is for JT to get DNPs or sparse minutes at best. That sucks
I didn't say he was a backup SF. I said he was the first rotation off the bench to replace MKG in both games before Taylor became a starter. That to me is a bachup, regardless of size or position. If Taylor was his backup then he wasn't needed before Hendo went down. I agree; however, that of those listed as SFs taylor has earned a say for the most minutes off the bench.
@ fan of a fan....i wouldnt expect to see DNP beside Taylors name....i think he has proven to coach that he is their best defender and is a key asset to this team....Dunlap will find minutes for Taylor...i plan on seeing him as MKG's backup and plan on seeing him in there when we need a defensive stop...he wont get as many minutes as he has the past 7 games games but i still think he will get 15-20 minutes a game

Hendo is a big player for us becasue he adds alot offensivley and defensivley so i would expect him to play 30 mins minimum per game. Jeff taylor would be great coming off the bench and also ben Gordon will play minutes.

Henderson coming back just makes our bench even stronger....Sessions / Gordon / Taylor / Warrick / Biz .....thats a pretty solid bench is u ask me
personally, i hope we just completely dump ben gordon's minutes. doesn't have a future with the team and it seems like he turns the ball over at a good clip and will jack up wild shots. just not a fan. keep him on the bench unless the team really needs him.
as for taylor's DNPs, i'm pretty sure Dunlap is just a big fan of bringing young guys along slowly (he's doing the same thing with Biz). while i'm more of a sink-or-swim advocate myself, you can certainly argue for the merits of letting dudes slowly acclimate.
while i hope taylor continues to start, i'll trust Dunlap knows what he's doing both for team chemistry and the long-term growth of our guys.

Henderson will definitely go back to the starting lineup but I'm sure Dunlap will continue to give Taylor his minutes ..he is too important to this team not to ..Taylor will be playing more at the SF spot ..as for Gordon I understand what u are saying but I really think as the season progresses that Gordon will get more comfortable in His role and in the offense ...Gordon is a streak shooter so he will have games when he looks terrible from the field but he will also have games when he lights it up and gets u 20 points in 20 minutes ..I though Gordon played a good game bs the Raptors giving us 13 points off the bench ..Gordon will be here for the rest of the season and for alot of next season ..but we will be dealing him be4 the deadline next year and we will get us something nice in return ..Gordon's 14 mill expiring next year is like sitting on a lotto ticket..there will be prob 8-10 teams who will offer us a great package for an expiring deal of that caliber and the fact that he can help the team he goes to and won't be a stiff like Diop .Cho has really set things up nice for this team and I look forward to watching him work his magic the next cpl seasons
Don't underestimate the contribution that BG is giving us. We can't just dump his minutes. He's averaging about 14 points in 23 minutes per contest. Despite the untimely turnovers occasionally, I doubt anybody else on the roster could put up those numbers in such limited minutes. Under the radar, he's our 3rd leading scorer, FWIW
i don't mean to turn this thread into a "i hate ben gordon" thing, but, the statistics imply that the team performs better when he's not playing and worse when he is.
On the court vs Off the court stats:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/.../#on-off::none
The offense gets worse and our opponent's offensive rating skyrockets.
Bobcat's lineups based on points scored minus points given up if played out over 100 possessions:

Ben Gordon doesn't crack the list until 9th down and he's on every single one of the bottom 10 lineups.
Still early in the season, so these will be trends worth watching, but the evidence is pretty damning in my mind.
And my eye test says that while he may score 14 points in 23 minutes, he is constantly getting abused on defense. When Hendo gets back, give all of Ben Gordon's minutes to him. I'm starting that bandwagon now.
