This. Not at all concerned about Mullens offense. His defense is leaps and bounds better this year compared to last and Dunlap already has him playing nastier both ways (see the above gif as evidence A) . He is very YOUNG still (only 23 years old) and going on his second legit season in the bigs, he is a big part of this core group I think.

But this raises the most important question(s), with Mullens being a restricted free agent on July 1st what do we offer him? If we tender him and let other offers come in first, will we lose him? What is a 23 year old over 7 feet with a ton of upside but only two years of tape and obvious limits to certain parts of his game really worth? How much of a core his he in the eyes of Cho (a top 3 talent, a solid starter, or a 6th man)? If the outside market would offer him 3 yrs/24 million, would he give us a hometown discount for less if we added a 4th year (like 4 yrs/25 million)? Do we want to add a 4th year?

The relationship between Mullens and Dunlap has been more than just coach/player on both ends, and Cho has said he's an important piece, so I don't think Byron is looking to go anywhere, nor is Cho looking to lose him. We have to find out how good he can consistently be. He's had 30 point games in the past, and you have to figure out if that can be a standard or are those just the products of someone having to score on a bad team.

Decided to bump this thread to the top in honor of Sir Byron making his comeback tonight.

I hope that the time away has been good for his game as he has been able to watch how the game flows and how he can best attack. I hope watching a D- Leaguer come in and bang has him hungry to show that he is tough and willing to do the dirty work that Adrien does.

It's no secret that I'm not a big fan of his game but, I'm actually excited to see him back tonight. (speaks more about not ever wanting to see Tyrus or Hakim take the floor again)

Im hoping for 14 & 10 tonight in limited minutes (he's on a minute restriction but, I'm not sure what the limit is)...

cracks me up that people hate the guy even though his contract/worth ratio is outstanding. and then expect him to drop 14/10 off an injury on limited minutes.

14 & 10 is me being optimistic and hoping that his time off has allowed him to see where his spots are to take advantage of his skill set. My prediction for tonight is much worse than what I'm hoping for (8 & 4 on 3-9 shooting)

I think he's a good value this year for his pay/production... My greatest fear is they pay him a shitload this summer.

He's no doubt our best big man and it's not even close... Our bigs suck so bad!

He needs to remind himself of how his rebounding got him into the "most improved" conversation...and take that confidence with him on the floor. If I were him I would turn the brain off on offense (sounds counter-intuitive) and have that confidence, derived his strides in rebounding, to fall back on: kind of a glass is half full perscription for him on his off nights. I don't think he is stupid, but more likely a victim of the "over-analysis leads to paralysis" syndrome. I think alot of what made Coach D so enthused to start him is his performance in practice.

Rooting for him big time, not as a Cats fan, but just in general because I know he wants it bad and he has the tools; he just needs to mentally approach gametime with a plan to stay in a good place...then we will see the same Mully we've seen on his good nights, on most nights.

More so than his shooting %'s. I am worried about him shaving his new beard and looking goofy as hell again! I agree with him needing to focus on rebounding and letting the offense just come (and in the mean time get more put back dunk and tip ins on the Offensive glass). With the beard he atleast looks the part of a rebounder...lol
