The Wiz game in general was not a good example...as was noted before all our guards went hero mode in OT. We know Kemba has been prone to do it before in desperate times but more than not this season he's not. We can't expect a 180 turnaround nor should we.

The point is he's getting better.

It's not mid-season yet anyway...why are you even debating this?
Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker

If he doesn't keep shooting, this offense will fall apart and teams will just pack it in. With very few outside shooters on the team Dunlap knows Byron has to play a huge part.
Thanks for being concerned about my anger and what I watch on TV.... The biggest mismatch is between him shooting the ball and the ball scoring points. What good is a mismatch if you miss 70 + % of the time
Bismack Biyombo rejected the mayans....you are welcome

It's more about what he does by being a threat. Like was pointed out before, the Bobcats offensive production is much higher when he is in the game. It is clear why if you watch the games.

Of course the offensive production will be worse when he is on the bench....

If he's on the bench, it means that one of the following are on the court.
    1. Biz
    2. Tyrus
    3. Warrick
    4. Diop

He may be able to score more than them combined in a NWA style handicap match 1 vs. 4.

the threat of his shot is more powerful than his actual shot. If he can take/make enough to draw his man out of the paint, and allows Kemba, Ramon, and MKG room to drive that's a clear advantage for the Bobcats. It becomes a negative when he shoots 10 of them and makes 2 or 3. One, we miss the shoot, two is robs our better drivers of the chance to attack the rim, draw fouls (sometimes), and shot free throws.

not debating. just stating why i have concerns. i am very impressed with him thus far this year. i may have to wait until the end of the season for a final "should he be the starting pg of the future" decision. i thought coming into the season it would be obvious to me by mid-season, but his improvement has surprised me.

I defend Mullens, but his shot selection has been horrid over the past few games. I dont mind him taking 3's. But he has been taking some BAD shots at very inopportune times. That crap has to stop.

VERY happy with the improvement with the offensive part of Biombo's game. It is starting to catch up to his defensive abilities. You can see him getting more confidence game by game. And you can see his teammates getting more confident in getting him the ball down low.

    0-3 last night..ugh

Your right about Bismack, he played great last. Dove hard to the hoop after the picks, caught the ball, and finished. I'm very impressed with how he's coming along.

Just remember this: 33% from three produces basically the exact same amount of points as 50% from the field with the added benefit of stretching the floor.

Mullens has gone up 3 % points since this thread started, which means he's probably shooting around 33% (actually, he's shooting right at 30%). We would never really argue with a player shooting 50% from the floor, so we shouldn't really be overly concerned about his three point shooting, aside from the possible argument that his outside play takes away from inside play. In the games I've watched, he seems like he's played pretty evenly between the post and outside.

Agreed. Mullens has plenty to learn, but I think he's shown considerable improvement this year. If we're going to be concerned about a part of his game, I'd be looking at his defensive awareness. That's the spot with the greatest need for improvement as far as I'm concerned. That being said, I think with Dunlap teaching him, he'll show improvement there in time.
