The trade with Hendo I think will come next season, because we'll sign him to his qualifying offer in the offseason, right? I don't think anyone is going to come offering a crazy contract unless he lights it up when he comes back from injury.

But who knows? Maybe he'll give a discount because he wants to be a part of what we're building. He is a team captain, and it happened with the OKC young guns, well outside of Harden lol.

I hate to say it but I feel the same way. JT just plays a much more fluid game while bringing consistent defense the entire time as well. That being said... Minnesota would definitely give up Derrick in heartbeat (he's pretty terrible) but we can probably do better. I think it'll be interesting to see Henderson fight for his spot when he gets back though.

I think Gerald will still play a vital role. He is still the best player on the team at getting open without the ball. That said I hope Dunlap keeps closing the game with Walker and Sessions. Sessions presence is just so calming for the whole team on the court.
Cheering harder for the Hornets to lose than the Bobcats to win, just like the good old days.

I like the idea of having both players on this team. One for a starter, and the other for an above avg backup - which we need. And for a team which hopes to be fighting for a playoff spot, you dont just give one of these players up in a trade. That said, if there is legitimate concern we will simply lose Hendo to FA if he is demoted, then it makes sense to trade him for a valuable piece we may currently lack. The one thing I dont want to happen is to pair him with TT in a trade merely to get rid of TT's contract. That would piss me off. Very tough call, but at least we have Cho making that call. And that makes me confident we will do the right thing.

I'm wondering and guessing that Cho may have planned for this when he drafted JT. I wondered why we drafted two sf. But when JT started playing SG, I started to wondered if it marked the end for Hendo if contract negotiations go south.

Gerald has some value to us right now because he could probably help our stagnant half court offense. Our next building block is obviously an all star level big which makes the half court so much easier. If/when we get that guy, Jeff is the much better option going forward.

Default Wondering about that rookie wall

If the season ended today I'd be pro Taylor over keeping Henderson. But time will tell. Perhaps the picture will be clearer around game 60.

I don't know if Cho set out to draft a SF in the second round. Taylor was possibly the best player available. But it made sense to draft MKG AND a SF backup since we didn't have any true SF's on the roster.

The more I see Taylor, I like him as a 2-guard, though.

@ Superb....we had to draft 2 SF's....bc after we traded Maggette we had absolutely zero players at that spot...well maybe Tyrus but u get my point

@ Ohara..i agree with u 100%...while i am open to dealing Henderson only if a great deal came around...i think keeping both guys would be very beneficial to this team....we have plenty of other pieces and expiring contracts to make some trades to help this team without having to include Henderson...keeping both guys with either 1 of them starting and just splitting the minutes 50 / 50 ( and either guy can play a few minutes at SF ) really solidifies the backcourt for this team..

Having Kemba and Sessions at PG and Henderson and Taylor at SG really gives this team 1 of the better backcourts in the NBA ( depth playing a big factor in that )..we are getting 35 points 10 assists and 8 rebounds from the PG spot right now between those 2 guys...and at SG we have 2 guys who both play great defense and 2 guys who can both shoot and can both average you 12-16 points a game

If we lock these 4 guys up to stay with this team for the next 5-6 years then it would go a long way in making us a really good up and coming team...also with MKG locked in as our starter at SF we could then totally focus on improving our PF and Center positons..we have the $$ and i really think that making sure none of those guys go anywhere would really speed up our process of being a serious contender in the East

The bonus to having all 4 of these guys long term is that they are all young and none of them have reached their prime or their peak potential....Ramon Sessions is 26 years old....Gerald Henderson is 24 years old....Jeff Taylor is 23 years old...and Kemba Walker is 22 years old...thats a really good group of young talent....i am confident that we could be a serious contender in the East with those 4...and i dont think we need to touch those 2 positions at all...in 1 offseason we took a weakness ( our backcourt ) and easily made it our biggest strength!!!

Jeff Taylor is playing well so if the right deal comes around for Henderson.....we should take it....even though he's a nice player and a really good teammate....everyone on the team likes him it looks like but if he can net us a 1st round pick we should take it especially if we can't resign him for a reasonable amount

I want to wait til Henderson gets back and logs some time, but losing the 3 point threat can be a big deal. It seems lately that we've been doing well hanging with teams starting out...if I remember right we were getting in a hole right off at the beginning of the season.

Like Ohara said tho I'll be happy to have him back just to make the position stronger. We have a little bit of time to sort it out.
