Charlotte Trades:
Gordon
Diop

Charlotte receives:
Paul Gasol
Lakers 1st
We get our own 1st round pick back from the Bulls

Why for Charlotte:
We get a real post scorer whose contract ran the same length as Gordon's, frees up time in the backcourt now that Hendo is healthy and we get 2 first round picks and it only costs us $6m extra against next years salary cap.

Lakers Trade:
Gasol
1st rounder

Lakers Receive:
Carlos Boozer

Why for the Lakers:
Gasol doesn't fit the offense, Boozer would. The Lakers are trading away $40 Million in contracts and getting back $45 million but, the $'s are spread over 3 years so it saves them money against the luxury tax.

Bulls Trade:
Carlos Boozer
Charlotte 1st rounder

Bulls receive:
Gordon
Diop

Why for the Bulls:
The Bulls just signed Taj Gibson to a contract extension and this will free up playing time for him but, the real reason the Bulls do this is they save 16.8 Million in Salary Cap space in the 14/15 season. That $16.8M could easily equal $33.6M in real dollars because of the luxury tax..... They take a hit on talent for this season but, this frees up cap room in the future and allows them to save a boatload of money and it only costs them a player that they don't really like and the Bobcats pick.
Though others might shun it this is possible if the Bulls management could swallow their pride about how the Ben Gordon contract negotiations went a few years ago. It would work for all teams. The Bulls might amnesty Boozer come next year and have been looking for Gordon's replacement since his departure having yet to have a SG avg over 15 since. The Lakers are souring to Gasol with D'Antoni at the helm. And we the Bobcats are in desperate need of a serviceable PF and more draft picks.
