Pau Gasol is 32, and has been showing signs of decline for the past 2-3 seasons. He's done. He's been a great player so he may have the occasional great game, but he won't lead our team anywhere except a 6th-8th seed & 1st round exit as Mullens replacement before sailing off into the sunset. We would be dumb to trade anything really valuable for Pau, although I could see something along the lines of a Ben Gordon package in a multi-team deal coming into existence come trade deadline time that could net us Gasol & a 1st round pick. We have too many wings with Hendo back, and will likely downgrade their value with limited minutes, so we might well get the most out of one of them now.
Pau makes no sense, he's on a completely different timeline than this team. It's not in Charlotte's best interests to make the playoffs this year either, to be quite honest. Charlotte needs one of the (relatively) many promising bigs in the upcoming draft to anchor the frontcourt for the next seven to ten years (Biz isn't that guy), and any finish outside the bottom 12 not only takes the Bobcats out of position to take one of those guys, but also has the pick going to Chicago.
Now, it probably does make sense to move Mullens though, because both he and Henderson are going to hit free agency, and I don't think it makes sense to pay both of them. Facilitating a "three+ team" deal to pick up additional picks/prospects or finding a way to turn Mullens into a big still on a rookie contract for a few more years (Derrick Williams, Enes Kanter, etc) would make a lot of sense.

I would offer Gordon, Tyrus and Mullens. We get out of two bad contracts early to take on Gasol who is a slightly a better fit because he offers post scoring. I can't wait to get rid of Mullens, he has improved but still terrible overall
NO NO NO NO...the guy currently makes 19 mill a year and is on the downside of his career....he has 2-3 years of quality basketball left and as of let his game hasnt been very impressive....by the time we got a foundation of success he would be done and on top of that he would take up nearly 35 % of our payroll....no thanks at all....we have Haywood for the next few years and will prob sign a mid level vet in offseason.....what we need it a big man in the draft and we need to sign a proven solid big man in the 24-27 age range
Also, I'm pretty sure LA just hangs up on whatever offer Charlotte would reasonably put out there.
