Why hasn't MJ put the nail in the coffin on the "hornets" brand? Same reason as a player & shoe icon that he never took a stand on gun-control, politics, etc. He's always respond...Republicans and Democrats both buy my shoes. Pro-gun and Anti-gun people buy my shoes.

    Go Cats
That doesn't mean anything lol. He could be waiting till the end off the year to announce the change so people will still buy the Merch.

I'm with you, dnb and other like-minded fellas. I support the home team that represents the Carolinas and that's enough for me. They don't even need a team name, as far as I'm concerned. Charlotte is just fine.

Holy cow. I'm taking the survey now. It's a beast. The SAT took less time.

Well now wait a minute. I was told in another thread that the Bobcats not denying changing the name was "proof"...that the omission was EVERYTHING! Hell, that led to a conclusion that we'd be changing within the year!

If an omission to the general public can mean so much then an omission to season ticket holders should mean even more...wouldn't you think?

The (2) 100-Level seats incentive makes it worth the time.

Interesting article on the name change from Bonnell - http://www.charlotteobserver.com/201...w-hornets.html

The team has prepared, though. A marketing study of Charlotte the team commissioned during the summer of 2010, couldn’t ask specific questions about the Hornets, but did poll Charlotteans on the name “Bobcats.”
    The results might surprise you.
According to chief sales and marketing officer Pete Guelli, more than 60 percent of those polled liked the name Bobcats; about 20 percent advocated a name change.
I'll be damned...all along I thought we were being called the 6%ers when it was actually the 60%ers!

    ROFLMAO!

    Reading is fundamental.....

Team couldn't ask about Hornets... The choice could have been which name do you prefer Bobcats, or Fruit Booty Unicorns..

That study was 2.5 years ago during the summer that the team made the playoffs.....what was the population...statistics don't lie but, you can lie with statistics.

I would bet my life, that if you did a poll of every person in Charlotte, there is no way in hell the Bobcats would get 60% or even anywhere close to a majority if the Hornets were an option.
