I'm still glad they did it but, it doesn't look like it helped. (atleast up until this point)

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of the Hornets. But I think its been to long. I'm not really sure a rebranding would really boost sales. Personally I prefer the Hornet logo. But it takes time to switch Mascots and all have have right now are hopes and not even an official rumor to hold on to.
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

I'm split on the issue. It may end-up igniting a "buzz" of attention and excitement that fuels the team; it happened with "Tebowmania," they started getting attention, hype, and an emotional charge from it, performed at a high level, and rode that momentum into the post-season.

It is also a genius brand with history attached; the logo, colors, unis, and court design are one of a kind. I would like to see the original logo with the purple and no pussy yellow like the new one. The worst thing the org could do is modify the original branding in the event of a second name-change.

On the other side, the Bobcats have made there own name during the Wallace tenure; they were generally respected and had their own brand of tough, scrappy, hustle basketball; the real fans appreciated it and remember those times. The unit that made the playoffs was an easily likeable team between Wallace's hustle and Jack's attitude. To casual fans, the Bobcats have become a punchline for jokes on basketball futility...but the close followers know Bobcats means non-glamor, blue-collar basketball.

We have the core talent: the three along with the vets, to me, are a tight bunch; I'm sure they've been fueled with a chip on their shoulder. I think the pride of their own turnaround and their growth together in these coming years will have high emotional value; everything that goes into that package/experience should be maintained, including the current branding. In the event of a turnaround...the Bobcats brand may become a battle scar as the core are the same bunch who experienced (or are experiencing) the pain and ridicule of the 11' and/or current season.

Sticking with the Bobcats would be the equivalent of Nike sticking with Tiger Woods...it's a bold move...but you have to respect the boldness.

Either way...eschewing bringing back the Hornets or bringing back the Hornets are statements in of themselves; both will have a positive effect in one way or another.

I say stick with the Cats. Screw the casual fans who bailed on them and are waiting for the rebranding to jump back on the bandwagon; screwthe haters who laugh at everything Bobcat related...it won't be so funny when we become a remarkable turnaround story.
