Why pretend he's taller than he is? Barefoot heights correct for variations due to shoes/soles/etc. Biyombo will spend time at both positions over the course of his career, depending on match-ups.

I don't see how it's pretend because they do play in shoes?

NBA lists all their players in shoes and usually inflated at that. If you pick out a certain player and insist using their height without shoes then you're actually comparing apples to oranges because the other guys aren't listed like that.

Give me a break ..he is listed at 6'9 which means he is 6'8 @ best ..and if u watched the game and read thR Charlotte observer ..he guarded Blake the majority of the time

He's conservatively listed at 6'9 and could easily be called a 6'10 player.


Why does it matter who he guarded the majority of the time this ONE game? I distinctly remember him guarding guys like Al Jefferson and Dwight Howard the majority of the time when he plays them. You know... the Centers on their rosters


By the way, going with spectre in that argument. You play with your shoes on so you should be measured as such. There's typically a accepted addition for shoes (around 1.5" I believe) but most teams inflate or deflate past that number for whatever reason

A guys' height isn't a subjective thing like the quality of his jumpshot or his ceiling. There's a quantifiable answer. "Height in shoes" is a marketing gimmick agents use to make their clients sound more appealing. Also, you're kidding yourself if you don't think he's going to play both positions over the course of his career, especially with the number of big men projected to go in the top-10 of the coming draft.
