Hmmmm... so how's Biyombo's emergence as of late?

It was a difference over over an inch (6'8.3" vs. 6'9.5"), and why the data upset people I don't care to speculate on.

His rebounding's coming along pretty well, although he still mistimes his jumps more often than a professional athlete should. The offensive end of the floor is still very rough, but his shot-blocking is already good and he's very active. They might as well get him as many minutes as possible this season to see how he comes along, the biggest thing is going to be his footwork and positioning, as the defensive end of the floor is where he has a chance to be truly special.

It's been so so. I would like to see him improve his offensive & defensive stat lines when playing over 30 minutes like he has lately, but on the bright side he hasn't been in much foul trouble or dropping passes. Honestly, I want to see Haywood back in the starting lineup, with Biyombo reserving him. I have somewhat high expectations for Biyombo due to my liking of shot blockers in the paint, but I want for him to earn his minutes more so than given them.

What the hell did I just read?
I quote some stats from draftexpress and it turns into a war on foam.

So is Biyombo playing big enough?

As has been mentioned he often gets blocked out of position. I also have a theory going that his normal crouched stance may be a disadvantage. He often stoops on defense or in anticipation of a rebound; allowing other bigs to play over top of him.

And yes; that "debate" about the thickness of foam was excellent. I'm happy that's all finally been clarified.

While we're on the subject one other way Biyombo makes himself small is having a shaved head.

Nerlens Noel for example is rated at 6'-11"; but in reality without shoes or hair he's actually 5'-8". Clearly, in todays NBA; your playing height is the true barometer. Using actual height can misrepresent a players real court value.

I think his emergence as of late is very clear ..especially after a very slow preseason and start to season ...he is averaging 6 points / nearly 7 rbds and 2 blocks since he has gotten 25 minutes or so a game ..I watch every game and it's not sure much stats as it is about his attitude and aggressiveness ...I just really think him paired along side a Milsap / Pekovic ...ect would improve his game 10 fold ..I'm sure he feels tons of pressure to score and rebound with no down low scoring ...aside from Kemba / Sessions and MKG

Biz is far from being a stud or ready to be a big time starting big man ...but to double his scoring and rebounding as well as still getting 2 blocks is fun to watch ..I mentioned a week or 2 ago i felt like he should start the rest of the year and my wish has been granted...give him a partner who can score and his improvement could be drastic ..and that doesn't mean just this year

lol at his pressure to score! you can see when he gets the ball in good post position, he is just like, "goddamn i dont wanna have to do this" and tries some odd post "move." hopefully mj keeps working with him in the post hah. he length is jaw dropping though, and i can see why he was drafted so high. people have no chance if he learns to not block every shot.
