I don't think you understand the argument. If you're going to say that Biyombo is 6'8" and use that to justify him not being a C (because he's shorter than other Cs), then you have to use the other Cs heights barefoot as well. For instance, Dwight Howard measured out as 6'9" without shoes on DX. You must use THAT measurement to compare the heights, not the 6'11" that Dwight is listed at (because that is inflated with his shoes on). So rather than being a 3" difference between the two, it's only a .69" difference.
Sigh. You backtrack on your argument more than anyone I've ever seen. Explain to me how he has "power forward size"? What does that even mean?
And again, I was saying that you're arguing Biz's height based on a barefoot measurement. But if you're going to do that, then you can't use the measurements posted on rosters and ESPN for other guys, because that's their listed height with shoes. Try again.
Correcting you isn't backtracking. I think you should use barefoot measurements for everyone, because they're actually accurate and can't be manipulated. "Power forward size" means that he's the size of a traditional power forward. He can play center just fine (like I said, if you'd bother to read the thread) because the league is getting away from traditional frontcourts (even doing away with the center designation on the all-star ballot) and just playing power forwards in the middle more and more. "Height in shoes" is boob bait pushed by agents to increase their commissions. Byron Mullens was a big man of uncertain draft position and gained two inches going from barefoot to wearing shoes. Lebron was already big for his position and was the lock to be picked #1, so he only increased 3/4ths of an inch when he put shoes on. If you can manipulate a guys' apparent height by upwards of an inch and a quarter it's an unreliable metric. There's no sense in adding unnecessary variables when making measurements just because they make you feel better.

Their was a question as to how tall Biyombo is. The answer is six-foot-eight and change. Don't get angry at numbers because they aren't the ones you want them to be. If you're going to willingly use wrong numbers because they make you feel better, then fine, but don't pretend that it makes you a more knowledgeable fan.
Height is also a way for people to ignorantly state that someone is not big enough to play a position. You completely discount his wingspan and vertical. Just in case you were wondering, most people don't block shots or make shots barefooted.... with both feet on the ground... with their forehead.
