You're completely missing the point! "Starter" is a meaningless term that only matters to gloryhounds and soccer moms. People are so hung up on hearing their favorite players' name called during introductions they're willing to dismiss a proven championship strategy unless it's not "their kid". Better players than Kemba have played starters' minutes off the bench because it was a winning game plan. McHale was out-producing Maxwell handily, and playing more minutes, but came off the bench because his defensive versatility allowed Boston to respond to any lineup. Some guys posses talents that make them uniquely well-suited to that role, and it in no way means they'd be a bad starter.
