I would suggest if developing youth is not something that interests you, then this is not the team for you to follow. It's the directive Dunlap has received from management up to and including the owner. His developmental skills are the largest reason he's the coach. So development is what's going to happen here...for a few years.
I would also suggest that if this roster seems to be able to compete for anything other than "Best of the Worst" teams in the NBA, then I'm not sure we're looking at the same team. Nothing is wrong with being that type of team right now. I think this rebuild is right on schedule and we have reason to be excited about the future of this team.
i understand that we have to develop our youth, that common sense at this stage. but, why are we developing about 6 players(kemba, mullens, biz, mkg, hendo and taylor) at once? no team currently is developing 6 players or any team in the past and has been successful(maybe even in general) . the conventional way that every team has built there team in every sport is to find great/good players through the draft and make transactions to accommodate them.
what this forum is basically saying is" ok ,there's nothing wrong with developing 6 players because at same time their getting better and later we can draft an lottery pick" . what im saying is that its very pointless because whats stopping some of you from saying in year 13' we draft shabazz ,and now we are looking forward to developing 7 players(give or take)and we are waiting on year 14' lottery and so on .you cant develop the players that we have and then bring in more developmental talent because by then someone is being left out at the end and thats when the cycle occurs. during this " rebuilding stage" we have prematurely given up about 4 good players(dudley, chandler, felton, and wallace) in this attempt to better our team . im pretty sure im going to be seeing a " why did we trade hendo" thread because at this rate we're just helping out the rest of the nba.
im not understanding that point of view because its not reality and it never worked. nba teams dont develop talent with not one nba vet in the starting line-up ,this is not a nba 2k franchise where you can trade for a bunch of high potential young players or to stay in the lottery and have a team full of 90 overalls.
kemba walker has vastly improved and may be our future perennial all-star , mkg is like a josh smith mixed with a little iggy , and hendo is develping an reliable 3 point shot and can do eveything. so why cant we focus on the growth of these players and try to develop the other 3 gradually with 15-20 mins ,instead of throwing the season away ,especially when we showing that we can compete.
side note : gerald just turned 25 and taylor is 23. to develop taylor at the expense of a 2 year diff is retarded. gerald is better than taylor at every aspect except the long ball and at this point few players are exceptional/good in the nba at shooting 3's but half of them are not starters(more like situational).

Wasnt it two years ago that people were talking about getting rid of Hendont? Hendo is talated but hes just not meant for this team.
My question after watching the Orlando game Friday is what is our offense doing at the end of games? We were down 5 with 2 minutes to go and we had the ball, Kemba stood at the top of the key and dribbled for 20 seconds, then he made a pass and we forced up a shot.
The offense at the end of games (this was not the first time a saw this) is non existant. At least an isolation for Kemba would be better then nothing!
I like Dunlap but I thought X's and O's was suppose to be his strong suit!
Dunlap has been great. Its obvious that he's more focused on developing talent than he is on winning games.
Best example I can think of is how he handled Jeff Taylor. Most of our previous coaches would've buried JT after his first couple of poor showings but Dunlap actually used that to build him up. He actually gets Mullens to act like he gives a damn too.
Plus games are actually entertaining now.
I will not disagree, the games are a lot more fun and I enjoy going to every one of them. A win every now and then would be nice.

and just so everyone knows, i am 100% committed to development. i want biz starting, i want mkg playing through foul trouble, i want taylor getting big minutes, and (as long as the other guards acknowledge biz's presence on offense) i'm fine with ben gordon only getting garbage minutes.
