Mullens makes me want to pull my hair out - if I had anymore to pull. He is so inconsistent, it drives me crazy. When he is on, he plays very well for us. But he cannot put back to back solid games together to save his life. And when he is cold, he has that mentality to try and shoot his way out of it. And he is NOT that kind of scorer to allow him to do that. But if he is limited to 15-20 min/game as a 2nd team player, I like him for the Bobcats. And he is well worth the 2nd round pick we paid for him.

He's never looked 'great' though. Even on his best days, he looks simply above average. He's the third softest big in the league (that gets minutes) behind Bargnani and Pau. And bigs that are retarded on D typically stay retarded on D. I don't want to be a fan of the team that pays him.

His play against Golden State last night was absolutely horrendous. He couldn't be near the ball without during something detrimental to the team.

While I think Mullens is a good player. I also believe he is a complete head case and it effects his game when people get on him.

@Talen: His body language is perhaps the worst I've ever seen from an NBA player. We aren't talking Eli Manning pre-Super Bowl body language...I mean awkward middle school first day of class body language. I think the culprit is his horrible attitude; NBA players cannot last in this league if they keep getting down on themselves. He needs to turn off the brain, grow a pair, and play some deliberate confident basketball. He is becoming a competent glass-eater, but outside of that...he does not seem sure of himself, let alone sure what's going on. I feel like he's afraid to get grilled by his teammates. I think he has the tools...but he is miles from having it above the shoulders.

Compare Biyombo and Mullen's body language on the court. Both get completely lost out there (Biyombo more often), but with Biyombo you see a desire to correct himself on the court (pointing to his visible frustation with himself specifically), whereas with Mullens I see more of a sulking attitude. The more mistakes he makes, the more his confidence gets shot.

Mullens has become such a better rebounder this year, but defensively he gets eaten alive by even the worst of big men. Additionally, he isn't shooting well this year at all, yet he continues to take unnecessary shots. The grind of the NBA season (added with the 15 game losing streak) isn't helping either.

He seems like such a nice guy. If only he could get his shooting range back to go with his improved inside play; the team would be so much better.

He could be Dirk Nowitzki if he had any agility whatsoever. Unfortunately, he's pretty slow to react and that's not going to change.

He really needs to go back to work on that jumper - when his ankle heals.
