I wasent implying any racism, I have always just been amused with observations and stereotypes of athletes because of race. While I try to compare athletes across the board, I think the reason so many white athletes are compared is simply because they really do hold more similarities for whatever reason.... ( I do hate constantly hearing how "soft" Pau is) ....I also was reading a list of the worst defensive players where Ricky Rubio was the number 1 worst defensive pg... on some bleacher report article (i know)

1)That's exactly what you're implying lol
2)Pau is so soft, that Mullens punked him
3)Anyone can write for Bleacher Report - that's why its never taken seriously by anyone willing to risk credibility. Rubio is actually a pretty good defensive player (at least before the injury)

    White Boris Diaw

Anyway I'm glad we are all in agreement that Mullens sucks. He's to up and down in his production. He misses wide open shots and forces up way to many dumb shots. He should be one of the most productive PF's in the league but he has no balls. Bring back Charles Oakley, maybe even Anthony Mason, I dont know who our big man coach is but by how they play I just assume its the Stay Puff marshmallow man
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

Im not in agreement. Mullens can play. He will get paid, here or somewhere else. He has issues and on a team like the bobcats they can glare sometimes, but he doesnt suck.

    People need scapegoats.

    And I dissagree

Mullens on court play is the reason for this thread. He sucks, he has a ton of potential, but he sucks. yeah he's a 3rd year project blah blah, No one would pay him for how he playing now. They dont even want to pass you the ball in middle school games if they know you will miss 70% of the time
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

If we're going on what we have now, we should be saying most our players suck.

Mullins is young, he shows tons of potential, it's not like we're short on time to develop players. I think he's the exact kind of player we should be trying to develop

I've never seen a big that bad on defense initially turn into a competent defender. Never seen a guy become un-soft either.

I'm anti- Mullens as I don't like his game. I guess I'm old school and I want my bigs to play more in the paint with their back to the basket more but, with that said I agree with your point.

We need good players and Byron is good in spurts and deserves more time to develop.

My fear is that we overpay him this summer based off of inflated stats due to our pace of play and lack of competent competition for playing time.

I support bringing Mully back at around 4 or 5 million to be the first big off he bench and avg 15-18 minutes a game. He would be a great piece to have as a spot starter at the 4 or 5 in case of injury.

I'm just scared as he'll we over- inflate his worth and pay him Bargnani or Ryan Andrson type dollars.

We have a history of overpaying our own free agents

Offered Felton a big contract that he turned down
offered DJ a bigger contract than Indy that he turned down. ( DJ not getting any burn)

I don't know how he is going to survive the learning curve it will take for him to live up to the potential. I can see it in his face, his expressions, his body language. Crap attitude. I have never seen a 4th year player carry himself so badly when he struggles...slouching, looking up, palms forward like "why?" Needless to say, his decision-making and reaction time are very slow...but the way he is handling his mistakes and shortcomings is just frightening. I don't envision steady and significant improvement in his future.

    Re: his on court demeanor,

He reminds me a lot of Adam Morrison after he misses a shot, the head down shaking. I don't think he has a lot of confidence.
