Explain to me why Isiah Thomas shot almost 4 shots per game more than Adrian Dantley but averaged less points in multiple seasons if he was such a pass-first PG. Isiah is one of my favorite players of all-time, so I'm not trying to belittle what he did in NBA history, but I call a spade a spade.

Because Dantley is probably the most efficient guy his size to ever play the game. Did Isiah have a high usage? Sure, but that doesn't mean he was a "shoot first PG"

OK, so logically thinking, if Isiah was such a pass-first PG & Dantley was such an efficient scorer, how come Isiah didn't get the ball in Dantley's hands more to shoot more than himself like a pass-first PG should? Dantley could create his own shot in a variety of ways, so I know it had nothing to do with waiting for a so-called finisher set.

I didn't had time to read through the entire topic, so forgive me if somebody has said this before, but the way I look at it is that with the way Kemba is playing right now (the entire season thus far) you could compare him with Brandon Jennings, and I think it's better for Jennings to be compared with Kemba than the other way around. I don't know if this answers anybody's questions but it does prove that we don't need a new point guard or whatsoever.

Kemba is much more fierce & aggressive than Jennings. I like Jennings, but ironically his weakness is that he's soft. I'm not disagreeing with your assessment. Well put, because Kemba is looking like the better player right now

Parker won one with Duncan way past his prime..the same goes with Kidd-Dirk. Does not matter how nice their HOF resume looks..I'm talking how good are you at the time of your title.

He was the target of vehement critics during the finals...and he is easily the most hated player, outside of the Europeans, by basketball purists. He is credited the most out of any of the Thunder players to be the reason they lost..his impact was actually worse than Harden's disappearance...just ask Magic Johnson who knows a thing or two about running the point.

The Big 3 in Boston was not the Big 3 in LA or the Big 3 in Miami...it was a Big 4 that won the championship...three of them were past their prime and that 4th guy was a dime-dropper.. if Brandon Jennings were on that team against those Lakers, they would have failed miserably. They had no *super-star in LeBron, Kobe, Durant, or Melo to lean on when the offense was off...they needed a PG that would create synergy (a unit that is more valuable than the sum of it's parts).

You have must have either super-star - specifically - Kobe, LeBron, Durant, Melo ...a dime-dropper on a team of non-superstars to have a chance to win it all. Those 4 are in a class of their own..they dominate games and are capable of becoming unstoppable...that was not the case for Dirk, Pierce, Garnett, Allen, and Duncan past their prime in their respective championship years.

Here is a list of the league's most respected coaches: Thibadeau, Carl, Brooks, Carlisle, Rivers, Popavich. The last 3 won rings..coincidentally, they prefer dime-droppers of score first PG's

Of the NBA championship teams since 1985, though, only six had starting point guards with a scoring average above 17 points in the regular season. Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Magic Johnson did so three times, Isiah Thomas did it twice with Detroit. Tony Parker with the Spurs in 2006-07 was the last point guard to do it. All three won a Finals MVP.

All 3 were also dime-droppers.
