I like Joel James' moxie, too. That's about it though. :\

I really like Noel. I think I am set with him as my number one overall. This could be the type of draft where a bunch of different teams can't agree on the number one pick.

If we also get the Blazers pick I would take a combo guard or a big pg that can also play the 2. Marcus Smart or Carter-Williams

Something about having Carter-Williams and MKG seems fitting

Man as good as Len looks, he scares me he looks too fragile. I'd be scared that be might get injured all the time

I don't think you can really predict injuries but i understand the concern. I could actually see Len being the #1 overall pick. To me he's the only big man is this years crop that is competent on both offense and defense and possess legit big man size at 7'1. Zellar is going to be a PF in the NBA. Having said all this, i still hope we get muhammed, take the best big around 13 if we get the portland pick, and try and go after millsap this summer. I think that's really about the best case scenario unless Len and Goodwin have great showings in pre draft and we can get both of them.

len is such a catch 22 for me. i am not in total agreement with swedd (and the current talk head POV) that the nba is moving to a position-less game where you throw out the 5 best athletes and fly around. it works for miami because of lebron. but god isn't churning out basketball players like that very often. i think it is more of a case of teams doing it because the center talent coming into the league the last 10 years or so has sucked, where the pg and sf talent is way up.

len is a very solid offensive center and can get up and down the court. he is a much better version of roy hibbert. the key for me is how he can do in the P&R. if he can't, we are going to need a pf who can. but on the low block he is solid. i think he is going to be really good. if we ended up picking 3-6 and mclemore and bazz were gone, i would take him and be extremely happy. the hard decision is if we get 1 or 2 and have to choose.

I'm not a fan of Len. He really struggled against Howell and Leslie of NC State who are all of 6'8-6'9." Struggled with Howell's weight and struggled with Leslie's athleticism. He was capable but he should be dominating both of those guys if he's a top 5 pick IMO.

i don't watch much college but i did see a fair amount of state/md. the hardest part for me to tease out is how much of it is that college can pack in a zone and the guards have such trouble making an entry pass at the right time and at the right place. but i did notice he wasn't exactly doing whatever he wanted against state and that is definitely eyebrow raising.

I've seen Len 3-4 times now and it's starting to be a recurring theme. If he's matched up against any kind of competent big he looks pretty pedestrian. He'll end up with decent numbers (except for turnovers) but he clearly struggles with contact and being slower than some better athletes. Plus for someone clearly 7' he doesn't really pull down the boards as much as he should. I'd say it's something easily fixable if he wasn't already choking down a 6000 calories a day diet to put on what weight he has.

unless he can hit an 18 footer and guard a player up to 6'10"; then no.

and before someone posts the argument about wingspan being more important, i disagree. wingspan is equally important but height/size is just as important. the shorter you are the better visual lines a taller opponent has and it makes a huge difference.
