Default Major changes need to happen

After watching the Bobcats lose their 18th straight game I feel that major changes need to be made. The team is dropping in the standings and if they continue on this pace they will be one of the worst teams again this year.

I feel that changes need to be made
    - Dunlap needs to go, at first I thought he know what he was doing but not anymore. The Bobcats need a coach that will scare the players to do well. Dunlap is not getting the best out of his players.
    - Trades need to be made. Diop needs to go, he is earning a lot of money that he does not deserve. Cho needs to trade some players and start to spend money on GOOD PROVEN players.

I do not want this team to be laughed at again this year. I know they won't go to the playoffs this years, but it does not mean that management can't try to make the team better. We can't depend on the draft again, as the Bobcats get screwed each year with the draft.

You mean to tell me the worst team to ever play a season of NBA basketball didn't suddenly become a much better team over the course of one offseason?

Dunlap knows exactly what hes doing and hes not getting paid to win . Hes getting paid to develop players , Kemba, MKG, Mullens , Smack, Taylor , Kemba has exceded expectations , MKG is coming on . If you look at tonights + - MKG , Kemba and Taylor was very competive.

Well, actually 13th straight loss, although that doesn't make it much better. But they already were going to be one of the worst teams this year. They've pretty much only beaten absolutely horrible or depleted teams for their victories - we have a severely unbalanced, guard heavy roster, and one of the youngest, most inexperienced teams. This was never a playoff team, nor was it meant to be.

Again, Dunlap was commissioned to develop players, not go all out for victories. But Dunlap has been incredible with getting the best out of players.

    Kemba last season: 12.1 points, 4.4 assists, .9 steals, 2.4 assist/turnover ratio, 36% FG, 30% 3 pointers
    Kemba in December: 22.2 points, 6.6 assists, 1.9 steals, 3.7 assist/turnover ratio, 48% FG, 36% 3 pointers

Henderson has been injured and not playing as much, but his 3 pointers have gone from 23% to 56% this year, and 62% in December, while shooting them at a much higher rate. And his efficiency has been much improved with a career high 16.84 PER, true shooting % of 54%, and 21 points/40 minutes.

Bismack has been averaging about 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 6.5 points as a starter, while shooting 51%. As raw as Biz was coming into the league, for him to start approaching Ben Wallace territory already after a year and change is quite a feat in development, especially how lost he looked last year.

Mullens is harder to see, but Dunlap has convinced him to try to play defense this year, even though he isn't very good at it. But he's getting better. He is a much improved rebounder, and he also now goes into the post about 15% of the time, versus the 0% of the time he had previously in his career.

And I like how he is bringing MKG and Taylor along.

Listen, when learning a new language, training a pet, raising a baby, building a house, learning karate, whatever it is, you won't be an expert after 2 months. Changing a culture, building fundamentals, instilling attitude, refining skills - this is a process that will take the course of a season or two or three. There will be leaps and bounds, and also trips and falls. The key is to not overreact to any of it, but to take it as part of the process.

I mean, we're going to be the joke of the league until we win a playoff series. And we won't get there unless we build the right way and not shoot our load early. Management is trying to make the team better, and I think they've done a great job so far, and can't wait to see what they do with all their assets in the coming years.

And the Bobcats weren't getting screwed (well, besides the unibrow debacle this year), they were just completely inept. Now that we have Cho, I'm not worried anymore about drafting busts.

I understand what you saying, it is just frustrating when this team loses. I don't live in the NC area and I have to pay for League Pass just to watch the team. It is frustrating to me that the team started well at the beginning but now it is back to last year.

i think this is a fair complaint, but i also think many of the board members here would just tell you that this period is a necessary growing pain. they would say that the opportunity for becoming a top contender (and it is definitely not guaranteed, despite some attitudes that say do this and this and we will be awesome) is worth waiting for, rather than blowing our wad on some quick fix moves that will almost certainly hinder the team in the long run.

right now, when i watch games, i am not really watching for the wins. i love love LOVE it when the team wins, but I like to watch the individual players and see if I can spot any growth, just from the viewpoint of a causal fan observer. i love what kemba is doing this year (what a tremendous leap from last year) and MKG is great. i was upset about biz in the beginning of the year, but now that he's back on track, i'm a lot happier.

i can agree that i'm confused about why our defense is god-awful and that certainly worries me. and i'll be so happy when the over-priced vets' contracts expire. there are certainly plenty of things to complain about.

i don't think anyone will blame you if you get sick of watching terrible bobcats ball on those nights when nothing goes right and change the channel. everyone has to do it at some point. i watch plenty of other teams play ball and sometimes it's hard to believe these teams are even in the same league (you're from new york, right? the knicks have been fun as hell to watch. fuck you tyson chandler). i just enjoy watching the bobcats because i know the players and i have enjoyed watching the young guys develop. and i personally don't think huge drastic changes are really what's needed amidst this crappy losing streak. i feel confident that the team is finally on the right track and that this team will be very good and very legitimate soon enough.

I dont think that he should be fired but changes need to be made in the lineup and he needs a new gameplan cause his playbook on the defensive end is a clusterfuck

Firing Dunlap would be a HUGE MISTAKE. He gots a young team. His goal is to improve the team performance, not record. That is what he promised Jordan. Make sure the team is playing better in Feb in comparision with the beginning of the season. Every player has stepped up there game from last year. Give him a couple more years at least.
