Please somebody tell me Im stupid and give me another reason why all of a sudden we can't win!! It cant be bc of Tyrus Thomas!!

i agree we need tyrus back asap. tyrus may be just as erratic as mullens in the scoring department but he's not going to shoot 7 threes. tyrus does have some bad shooting habits but at the same time he attempts about 6 free throws a game.besides the offensive side, tyrus may be top 10 in rotating and weakside help in the lg,and him alone have to account for 7-10 misses for the opposing team . players are penetrating at will and we are giving up buckets in the lane during close games.

i feel tyrus will be a change of pace and before he was injured he was putting up some quality mins.

also did anybody notice during the lakers game , that the lakers were in the penalty for about 2 mins and nobody attacked the basket; just horrible coaching.

i'm not pushing any panic button but this stretch has been maddening. The 2 themes have been blown big leads or getting decked. The blown leads bug me less because of the "learning to win" thing which I understand. But the getting destroyed stuff needs to end. Sure, it happens occasionally but roughly half of the games during this 13 game stretch? That's pretty bad. We have the worst point differential in the league and give up the most points in the league.

This was never a playoff team, nor was it meant to be.

Again, Dunlap was commissioned to develop players, not go all out for victories. But Dunlap has been incredible with getting the best out of players.

    Kemba last season: 12.1 points, 4.4 assists, .9 steals, 2.4 assist/turnover ratio, 36% FG, 30% 3 pointers
    Kemba in December: 22.2 points, 6.6 assists, 1.9 steals, 3.7 assist/turnover ratio, 48% FG, 36% 3 pointers

Henderson has been injured and not playing as much, but his 3 pointers have gone from 23% to 56% this year, and 62% in December, while shooting them at a much higher rate. And his efficiency has been much improved with a career high 16.84 PER, true shooting % of 54%, and 21 points/40 minutes.

Bismack has been averaging about 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 6.5 points as a starter, while shooting 51%. As raw as Biz was coming into the league, for him to start approaching Ben Wallace territory already after a year and change is quite a feat in development, especially how lost he looked last year.

Mullens is harder to see, but Dunlap has convinced him to try to play defense this year, even though he isn't very good at it. But he's getting better. He is a much improved rebounder, and he also now goes into the post about 15% of the time, versus the 0% of the time he had previously in his career.

And I like how he is bringing MKG and Taylor along.

Listen, when learning a new language, training a pet, raising a baby, building a house, learning karate, whatever it is, you won't be an expert after 2 months. Changing a culture, building fundamentals, instilling attitude, refining skills - this is a process that will take the course of a season or two or three. There will be leaps and bounds, and also trips and falls. The key is to not overreact to any of it, but to take it as part of the process.

I mean, we're going to be the joke of the league until we win a playoff series. And we won't get there unless we build the right way and not shoot our load early. Management is trying to make the team better, and I think they've done a great job so far, and can't wait to see what they do with all their assets in the coming years.

And the Bobcats weren't getting screwed (well, besides the unibrow debacle this year), they were just completely inept. Now that we have Cho, I'm not worried anymore about drafting busts.
I understand what you saying, it is just frustrating when this team loses. I don't live in the NC area and I have to pay for League Pass just to watch the team. It is frustrating to me that the team started well at the beginning but now it is back to last year.

New Oz movie looks pretty good

    Too far off topic?
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

There have just been a couple major problems for the cats over this 13 game losing streak that need to be addressed via coaching and talent acquisition:

    1. Dribble penetration - We give up WAY to much dribble drives, and drive/kick opportunities. It's been killing us on defense and gets everyone out of position on help defense. Also the thing is all of our guards/wings are culpable. I've seen everyone from Kemba, to Taylor, Hendo and MKG give up way too many.

    2. Our Bigs are creampuff soft. Biz has been trying and making good strides, but outside of him everyone else sucks. i also hate to say it, but this could be where Tyrus would help a bit. He seemed to have more fight in him on the defensive end on the block.

    3. Except for Kemba and Sessions when he's hot, all of our guys have some sort of serious offensive limitation. let me explain.

Hendo: Can't really drive by his man. Isolation with him comes down to him back his man down and taking a difficult turnaround jumpshot.

Taylor: Same hendo prolem in that he's not really the type to take his man off the dribble and get to the basket. he's also not a good outside shooter yet, he's decent sometime but not good.

MKG: Lack of a jumpshot helps teams sag off him to stop the dribble drive, also gives teams a a man who can do more on help defense because MKG is no threat out side of 15 feet. Once he improves that shot he can eventually be a 20ppg scorer.

Gordon: Can shoot but lacks height, also not as explosive as Kemba so can't consistently get to the basket.

Let's not even get into our big men offensive deficiencies.

We need guys like MKG and taylor to really work hard in the offseason to get rid of those deficiencies. it will make us a much more potent offense. We also have to find a good big man somewhere.
