Default Just for the Hell of it: Amar'e Stoudemire?

So it came out today that the Knicks offered him to nearly every team in the league, virtually for free. Basically, any team could package together any group of bad contracts, and the Knicks would deal him.

Stoudemire Now a Problem for Knicks - NYTimes.com
This past summer, the Knicks offered Stoudemire to nearly every team in the league — "available for free," as one rival executive put it. But they found no takers because of his diminished production, his health and his contract, which has three years and $65 million remaining (counting this season) and which is uninsured against a career-ending knee injury.
    http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/20...trade-contract

Now, I assume the vast majority of you would be against the deal, and honestly I would too at this point, but let's say he comes back in the next couple of weeks, and manages to stay healthy for the duration of the season. Would you be any more interested considering the risk?

If we drafted Shabazz Muhammad, and the Knicks were still worse with a healthy Amar'e, would you do Tyrus for Amar'e? We would have enough room to take the rest of his deal due to the fact that Diop and others are coming off the books. Tyrus is owed roughly 18 million over the next two years, while Amar'e is owed roughly 45 million. A huge gamble, I know, but consider:

    Kemba/Sessions
Shabazz/Gordon (Assuming we would let Henderson walk if we did this deal)
    MKG/Taylor
Amar'e/Low end FA/Draft pick if we end up with the Blazers pick or Mullens if the price is right
    Biz/Haywood

I know this is insanely unlikely, but do you take the risk if the decision was yours?

    I'm bored.

Also, I know, I know, trade forum, but that place is dead.

    Again, really, very, totally bored.

If Kemba could actually run a pick and roll, I would say hell yes.
Simply because Bobcats would become fun as hell to watch with Amar'e and Kemba off the pick and roll.

    Unfortunately, Kemba can't, so no.

Well, he hasn't really had anybody who was particularly great on the other end of the pick and roll either.

Edit to add that in his pre-draft scouting, he was referred to as, "a prolific pick-and-roll threat".

    No thanks.

That contract is too bloated and its too big of a risk with his health.

we have suffered this much, I hate to cut our cap flexibility to become the 6th seed.

2012-2013- Tank the rest of this season get a top 5 pick.
2013-2014- Barely miss the playoffs next season and retain our lottery pick
2014-2015- Make the playoffs and lose our pick and Get PDX's and Detroit's
2015-2025- Dominate the NBA and win multiple titles

Kemba's PnR game is actually above average - the fact that his bigs are completely terrible is the real issue. I wish Dunlap would try and it with MKG instead of Mullens and Biz.

No way. I get that he can be had for peanuts, but there's a reason. On our team, with our make-up and blueprint, a 30 year old broken down big man is not what we need. Maybe if we were a little closer and just needed that one extra piece, but we are not near that. Plus, I feel like he already shunned Charlotte back when he was with PHX when his name was being bantied about us going after him. Besides, for me, he has too much of a "diva-esque" attitude on the court.

    Absolutely, positively, unequivocally, no.

    All sorts of injury issues
    +
    Game reliant on athleticism
    +
    Already 30 years old
    +
Huge contract with no injury insurance
    +
Bad attitude that would not be willing to play on a rebuilding team

    =

No way in hell I take him on our roster unless its a multiple team deal where we get LeBron or Durant.
