As shallow as this draft is and the availability/ probability that any big time free agent will come here. We stand a good chance of having a lot of ping pong balls but, as we saw this year....the ping pong balls have never went our way.

1st round pick + Free Agent signing. One multi-threat SG who drains 3s first and foremost (preferrably get Hendo's stock up this season before a trade). Then, one big who eats glass with a back-to-the-basket post game to make up for Biz's Ben Wallace-like offense (to be frank). Get both in 2013-2014 season, let's not wait it out for two seasons for back-to-back picks. Hansborough is too small...a rebuilding Pacers team without West and what looked like a horrible pick in Hibbert had T come off the bench for a reason...I would put a team with front-court in T and Biz in the small category...there's no garuntee Biz will be a great rebounder in this league with his weak hands.

oh no you are wrong. i have it all figured out. the magic will win this year for the howard trade (see lebron and cavs and cp3 and hornets). then 2014 the cats win as stern has told mj he would make this year up to him big time. he knows wiggins will be a star and wants to really hook up the savior of the league right.

trust me. sources have told me this to be true.

Hansbrough and Gerald Henderson on the same roster would be interesting. Think back to the time Henderson gave Hansbrough a bloody nose in college. Every team needs a player like Hansbrough who can come in and do all the dirty work. Hickson would cost a pretty penny to bring in though somewhere between $32-36 million over 4 years I would say. If we did draft Shabazz, I don't see the point in keeping Henderson as Shabazz would be the SG of the future with Gordon being the primary back-up. We should get more assets for Henderson

I know from your past post that you are a former 76ers cheerleader and I'm sure you saw AI up close 100's of times. From a pure size speed perspective can you compare AI to Kemba?

I know AI is a hall of famer and it's an unfair comparison to try to make but, I'd love to hear your thought on comparing their body types and speed.
Physically I think Kemba is a little more stoutly built which will hopefully allow him to be even more durable then A.I. which is saying something. However, I think A.I. had a bit longer arms and higher release point on his J which allowed him to get off difficult shots in tight spaces. Kemba needs to develop the A.I. fadeaway jumper to take his offensive game to the next level. But in terms of quickness, ball-handling, and style of game I think they are a lot alike.

I keep forgetting we don't have a 2nd Round Pick. I love Millsap but I think if you have a starting front court with Millsap and Biyombo you don't have enough length. I think Hickson's wingspan is somewhere in the area of 7'3" while Millsap is closer to 7'1". Also, I think Millsap is going to get offered some big time contracts. I think the Bobcats have the cap room to get both Hickson and Hansbrough which will immediately be a HUGE upgrade in rebounding and points in the paint.

    Here are my thoughts:

This offseason is going to be huge as we have to make critical decisions on 2 players that you have listed as keepers. ( Henderson and Mullens) both of these guys are starters for us but, wouldn't start on most other teams. Based off of their stats which are inflated by playing on a bad team, they may think they deserve more money than we should pay.
I think Hendo will want a Demar DeRozen type contract and Mully a Ryan Anderson type deal.

In my mind, this offseason will be the first time we have had cap space since we traded for JRich and I don't want to blow it on resigning our own mediocre talent to above market contracts ( much like the Panthers did 2 years ago).

Also, in the draft ts possible that we have 2 first rounders ( our own and a pick from Portland that is top 12 protected)
This draft is loaded with big guys that can be solid but not dominant all stars.

I'm interested in Shabazz and Ben McElmore as wings and I really like Noels and Len as Bigs I don't think Zellars game translates to the next level to warrant a top 5 pick. Also, we don't have a 2nd round pick in the next draft.

Also, I really like your posts as you always back up your thoughts with a stat.
I would LOVE the Cats to get that 2nd 1st Round Pick from Portland this year and have it be somewhere in the 13-16 Range where they could possible get Mason Plumlee, Jeff Withey, or Tony Mitchell. How great would that be?!!?!!?

I travel to Portland for business quite often - I hate Portland
I don't think Portland is going to have the cap space to keep him. They need to sign at least 3 or 4 players this offseason to improve their bench which is far and away the worst in the NBA - Only averaging 17.4 PPG. The next lowest is Cleveland's bench averaging 25 PPG.

I agree with you and I am not a Tarheel fan. I think he will be somewhere around $5 million a year.

David Stern owes MJ. If the Bobcats have the worst record I have a gut feeling the Cats will get #1.
