Literally anybody else that wants to step up and take on that role.Team leader?
Hopefully, a truly great player. Maybe MKG one day, but honestly right now we don't have one. If Kemba is the face of the franchise than it's purely by default. I feel like it's been so long since CLT had an actual NBA superstar that they've forgotten what one looks like. Kemba Walker is a very good player, but when people start throwing around the word "untouchable" it strikes me as a reach. When your team is 8-23 and people start listing off multiple players as untouchable, then I think there's a certain disconnect there from reality. The way some people talk you'd think the Bobcats were one or two players away from a championship! It's great that Kemba has managed to put up good numbers on a bad team (somebody has to), but we're going to have another high 1st round pick coming in next year, maybe 1-3 more first rounders in 2014, and money to spend on really good free agents that same year. Hopefully they will be our franchise players, because with the exception of maybe MKG, we don't have any on the roster right now. That's why this team is 8-23.Face of the franchise?

Meh, I'm not interested in shortchanging our rebuild for a pouting big man. And I like Cousins.
using winning percentage on a rebuilding team isn't a fair gauge, specifically when the team's players are so young. okc went 23-59 (similar to the pace we are on) with two untouchable players in durant and westbrook.
also, i'm more confused about the exceptional mid-range shooter bit, rather than defensive liability. that can't possibly be true, or am i thinking back too much to last year?
Kemba in my mind is easily an above average defender by himself, but for it to show he needs to be a part of good team defense. As we all know the guards/wings have it drilled into them to help the bigs in the paint so there hasn't been much man/man with disregard to what else is going on around them. Until everyone is on the same page I find it disingenuous at best for anyone to claim he's a subpar defender.
No way I'd part with Kemba in any SAC trade involving Cousins.
Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch

I cant believe what i am reading by some of you guys....trade Kemba....i am all for making a deal for Cousins but including Kemba in that deal is insane ...he is hands down our best player and should be the 1 guy who is off limits...we are talking about a guy averaging close to 19 points 6 assists 3-4 rbds and 2 steals in what i might add is his first full year of starting at PG...the guy is a star in the making....if we trade Kemba that might be the last straw for me...but im confident that Cho is way to intelligent to do that..
We have other players / expiring contracts and draft picks that we can use to get Cousins...and if Sac doesnt like the deal we present then walk away....just my take

Kemba and MKG must stay. Cannot be a part of any trade.
