A little love for everyone's favorite rookie, from Grantland:
Lillard has earned front-runner status, but Kidd-Gilchrist deserves real consideration. Given their three-year age gap, it’s not surprising there are some folks around the league who would prefer to build around MKG for the long haul.

MKG won't get ROTY it'll be Lillard. Personally I think Davis is the best rookie but Lillard is clearly going to win ROTY at this point.
Lillard deserves ROY at this point without question. However, MKG is still only 19 and still has a lot of raw potential. I think he has the opportunity to be scary good! Plus you have to love his character, work ethic, and leadership by example.

Interesting read. I didn't realize Lillard was such a defensive liability. He will win the award, and deservedly so, but I'm still firmly in support of the MKG pick.

if we didnt have Kemba I would have been pissed if we passed up Lillard.
I like Kemba so I could live with the MKG pick. Just not as complete of a player as id like with the number 2 pick. Hopefully he will improve over the nxt few years.

People often throw out that MKG wasn't as complete a player as you would want with the 2 pick, I was one of them. What is being missed it that MKG excels in many facets of his game. He is the youngest player in the NBA and is already a very good (top 10) to elite (top 5) defender at his position. Add in his athleticism, rebounding, tenacity, slashing & ball handling ... you have yourself a hell of a prospect.
All he lacks (from a complete perspective) is a jump shot and that is historically proven to be the easiest skill to add to your arsenal. I don't expect him to ever be a 3 point threat but in the next 2 years I expect him to put consistent, respectable range onto his shot. Once he has that he will be a complete & elite level SF ... at 21 years of age! (I appreciate that's supposition, but it is hardly a reach).
I'll take that (top 5 player at his position by 21 years of age) with the 2 pick every time.

I have Actually noticed that the last few games his jump shot, do I dare say this... Improved? It still looks ugly but the mechanics are slightly better, and I mean slightly. Also there haven't been as Manu air balls and clanks off the rim. Hopefully signs for progress

Not sure what your watching. Lillard has a 1000x better jumper, way better ballhandler, much better scorer.
MKG is a better rebounder and defender. Those types are not a hot commodity imo.
MKG is a very nice prospect but as I mentioned he needs to improve some stuff to get to the nxt level.
We had / have Kemba so drafting Lillard would not have been smart.
We made a solid choice with MKG considering what was available.
