Has Henderson Found A 3 Point Shot?

Since Henderson has come back from his injury, he is shooting 15/28 from 3 point land, at just a shade under 50%, he is actually at .515% for the season! He has also hit 3 and 4 threes in two separate game so it isn't like he is only taking one open three a game.

People (including me) have always said his limit is his shooting as people fill the lane as he can't hit the outside shot, but if he does develop into a solid outside shooter ( I expect that .515 to come down) does this add more weight to us resigning him this summer?

It brings his value up, and if we're trading him that's always a good thing.
Guards need range in this league to space the floor, and if Hendo can continue to hit the 3 at a decent clip, he'll be far more valuable as a solid vet player for any team.
However, if we resign him, means we pay him more.

He's hitting the 3ball now but hes still not impacting the game like I imagined he would if he had an elite shot. idk, somethings just not right about him. seems like he's struggling badly with the rest of his game now. ugh

Every decent 2 guard is a little selfish in my opinion. I'd like to see him put up 20 shots a game minimum.

I used to think that Hendo was a problem before I suddenly realized just how bad our frontcourt players are. I think we should keep Hendo past the trade deadline and hopefully no team offers him a sheet that we'll have to match so we can re-sign him to the cheaper and safer qualifying offer to get one more year worth of play out of him while actually trying to win ball games. It's nice to see Hendo making the 3-point shot this year and last night he showed real confidence by pulling up for it even in transition. If we're not in position to draft Shabazz Muhammad come draft day then we better draft a PF/C and if we get the Portland pick in the late lottery/mid 1st then we better draft a PF/C. I'm all for drafting two of Cody Zeller, Nerlens Noel, Alex Len, Mason Plumlee, Isaiah Austin, Willie Cauley-Stein, and/or Rudy Gobert.

I'm with Plowright that this new found consistency from 3 point land is something we've been calling for, but all it has done for me is confirm that he just doesn't have 'it' as a player. He's the sort that won't do a team any harm by starting, but you'll always be looking to upgrade.

If it means we can get more for him in a trade then great ... if it means we pay more to retain him, which I worry about, then perversely it's a negative.

I appreciate that's a bit of a gloomy way of looking at things, but I have passed the point of seeing Hendo in our future.

I don't mind selfish within the offense but he still is a crappy ball handler and too many times he takes the ball and only passes it when its completely obvious that he's worked himself into a bad spot so that the next guy touching the ball is screwed with the clock winding down.

I'd say the only question mark standing between Hendo being traded before the deadline & us possibly matching a offer sheet this offseason is how much does his agent think he's worth. Anything above $6 million per & 3 years is a no-go.

I am one who thought if he could develop a 3 point shot he could average 18-20ppg... I also thought he never would, but the fact that he has and he is averaging less points worries me a little. Thing is, I know for sure if he goes to a contender he will do great for them and we will all complain about giving him up.
