Vucevic is 22 and Faried is 23.
If Bismack (at only 20) doesn't improve in the next two or three years when he's their age (his projected timeline anyway) then by all means trash the pick. But I'm going to laugh at anyone calling him a bad pick or a bust when he's still one of the youngest and rawest players in the league.

This place goes really hot and cold on individual players, huh?

Its more the individual posters than the general board itself. Here's a poll I put out before the season to see how people identified themselves as fans...maybe its interesting to see how their response there corresponds to these hot and cold opinions of players:

As for the impatience of waiting for Bismack, its pretty much because we're in an instant gratification, what-have-you-done-lately society. In one of the ridiculous "fire Dunlap" threads after only a few weeks, I compared that reaction to someone getting mad at a microwave for not heating up their tv-dinner after 30 seconds, and wanting to get a new one because of this "failure."
Well this is more like getting mad at a slow cooker for not having your roast ready. You put raw meat into it, and the instruction manual, the recipe, the butcher, and your mother alllllllll said that it would take 8 hours to fully cook the meal. But its only been a a couple hours, and your impatient ass is pissed you can't eat yet.
Now if the meal is bad after 8 hours, then I guess it wasn't that good to begin with, but you're not going to be able to tell until you fully cook it. So go outside and breathe a little bit, the Biz roast will be ready in a couple more years.

I'll hold you to that.
Completely agree; THAT IS WHY THE NFL IS SO DAMN PASS-HAPPY...FANS TODAY NEED A LITTLE RITALIN TO SIT THEIR ASS DOWN AND WATCH A GAME WITHOUT SEEING A TD EVER OTHER POSSESION. "SHOW ME A TOUCHDOWN NOW OR I'M BORED (SAME WITH NBA AND HAND-CHECKING).As for the impatience of waiting for Bismack, its pretty much because we're in an instant gratification, what-have-you-done-lately society. I stopped rooting for the Colts when every team in the league just copied them. For a player like Biz who only has toughness, athleticism, and physical traits to lean on...he still has mickey mouse hands and gets pushed around.
Wiki social desirability bias. I'm a marketing major and we learned about this in marketing research. it will explain the massive discourse between this prevalent bipolar attitude for players and your results which display such a surplus of "happy-go lucky" and "objective" fans.
Richard Dawkins giant spaggeti monster fallacy: "I can't prove God doesn't exist, so He must exist...the same is true of a giant spaghetti monster in the sky" Instead of God, we're talking about a career where Biz is as every bit as good as advertised. Somebody just posted a reply saying "well Faried and Vulecic were more polished." Well there we have a little evidence of future prosperity a la polished skill on display for scouts to see...not the spagetti monster falacy where Chow oogles at a physical specimen and says "Hey, he could be really good...lets draft him, i mean, we can't prove that he's going to suck." What promise did the tapes showed outside of shot blocking? For whoever made that remark about Faried and Vulecic's polished skills...that only hurts your argument. Instead, make a case for the evidence, shown from his tapes in Spain, that Biz has potential. But I'm going to laugh at anyone calling him a bad pick or a bust when he's still one of the youngest and rawest players in the league.

So Cho(w) developed such a severe man-crush after seeing Biz post the first triple double in Nike Hoop Summit history against some of the best talent in the world at the time that he needlessly traded up to draft Biz? Like no other GM would have drafted Biz in the top 10?
We had to trade up to 7 as It was widely agreed that Detroit were going to take him at 8 before our pick at 9
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Kema Walker The Core, The Future...
Bizmack Biyombo
Jeffrey Taylor
Go easy on me, I'm from England, and no... I Don't love the Queen.
It was a calculated risk. We didnt lose anything important in the trade and moved up over 10 spots in the draft. He is somebody with a HIGH ceiling and with a few years under his belt be can be somebody very very good. Thats why we have gone with a coach whos number 1 priority is to DEVELOP players. With time and patients, we can develop some really nice talant.
But dont get me wrong, I do understand that Bismak can still be a bust and hes not destine for greatness because he had a triple double in a high school/internationa game or any of his other things hes done overseas. This is going to be a long a crappy build but we have to start putting the people in place and build to that one dream which is a NBA title. Every move that Cho has made, I fully understood why he made cuz he has a very consistent with his plan. Im not like the Bob Johnson days where we wondered what diretion the team is going.

It was very risky but oh well we made it out fine (i'm talking about with Kemba). What if Detroit picked Kemba and we were stuck with B Knight![]()
Just to clear something up: why does Cho get mentioned so much with the OKC project (pre-finals appearance)? Is he credited in some way for the construction of that team or is this link based on Cho's modeling after the OKC project for Charlotte?
