A round of applause for this man. Just for a little perspective, if I did my math correctly, Charlotte has only played 100 regular season games since acquiring Biz so his NBA career is barely over a normal season long. Patience young padawans.

You also have to remember that he was the #7 pick in the entire draft.

I may be asking alot, but I would expect a top 10 pick to know how to play.

It was a weak draft, and he's got the perfect power forward body. If he actually knew how to play, he would have gone either first of second.

I have no doubt that this is on the list of things to address. But, it's probably at the bottom of that list. Most big man that we'd ask Biz to guard aren't face up guys so he doesn't really encounter the likes of Jefferson that much. Given his athleticism, this can be fixed but after they fix other more pressing things first.
This little issue will rear it's ugly head tonight guarding Bargnani or one of Toronto's 4s. You also have to keep in mind that the nba's 4s and 5s, to my dismay, are becoming smaller and quicker. The list of NBA starting lineups with at least one cement-footed 4 or 5 in there is probably less than half. Dunlap should address it ASAP and have him guard some fleet-footed bigs in practice.

Possibly, but when every scouting report that was out there, every commentator on draft night and after the fact all said that the downside of drafting Biyombo was that he was very raw. So raw that you would have to wait a few years to see the return on the selection. 1 1/2 years is about the timetable for a top-10 college player to hit his stride. Bismack was a foreign player that had only a few years of high school ball under his belt. He is an investment that will hopefully pay dividends in a couple of years..... just around the time that we are hitting the playoffs on the regular. He is frustrating currently, but it was part of the package deal when you draft a raw product.

Extremely raw, doesn't look improved at all. He just soesnt look like he knows how to play the game of basketball. Starting to question how much potential he has.

Agree. There's something called "with-it-ness." I'm referring to having a nack (or instinct) for knowing where to be and when; and just plain playing deliberately, without hesitation, believing in what you're doing. A lot of it is makeup and genetics believe it or not. Give him all the time you want...but he reminded me of Mully..seeing the frustrated players bark at him for screwing up was DeJaVu. Unfortunately, the front-office may overplay this "potential" card for too long before they label their draft pick as a sunk cost. No crystal ball...but hopefully I'm not the only one with a hunch that this will ultimately be futile "project" in Biz. Our premonitions of Mully, no matter how premature, have come to fruition as of late.

I would love to hear a one-on-one interview with Chad Ford on his current impressions of Biz: we don't really know if the front office as well as the fans are sipping too much Biz Kool aid or haterade than nessesary.

lol! sometimes it really is mind boggling. and then even after the 6-7 steps he sticks his 7'7 wingspan up there and somehow still cant just let the ball fall into the hoop.

not gonna say im out on him yet, at least he is some comic relief sometimes, but I would love to see ANY major improvement in an area of his game. even as an "defending specialist" he goes hard for blocks too often and draws the foul as a young blood. he has seemed pretty good on the boards doe.
