I could actually see a trade for Gay happening. It would have to be a 3 team trade netting us a young PF/C along with Gay while sending out TT so we don't have to amnesty him and still pay him. Gay isn't a super star but he would be the closest that we could net and would have him for at least 3yrs under contract. We need talent and that he has. We wouldn't have to give up picks to get him so we still could have good positioning in the draft. Gay wouldn't get us to an 8th seed and with the Wiz getting good now we still would be in the run for atleast the top 3 to 5 picks with extra pics to possibly move up. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bcqle3s or http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=av6ecjn. Both trades we still have Ben Gordon left to trade for more options

Fuck getting this second fiddle at best dude with a pre-CBA bloated contract. Just stay the course and draft either Shabazz or McLemore and throw our capspace money at Pekovic and watch the the Wolves blink.

Kemba, Shabazz, MKG, Pekovic, Bismack = considerably better team on the rise.

Look for something like Love and Williams for Diop, MKG, Smack , Portland and Pistons picks, Love wants out of Miny and Williams needs a change of senery
Love is proven Williams could turn out , We giving up a #2 pick, #7 pick and two first rounders
    Walker , Sessions
    Hendo , Gordon
    Williams , Taylor
    Love, Williams , Mully
    Haywood , Mully

Again Cho is looking for scoring and a rebounder per artical

Whoa, slow your roll and wait for the logic train to catch up. Why is Love unhappy in Minny? He wants to be on a playoff team. Why does Williams need a change in scenery? He's stuck behind Love. So what good does it do for either of them to play for gutted Charlotte team with no future draft picks?

Plus, we can't trade our pick b/c technically Chicago owns it. We'd have to work a deal with them to remove protection or something, otherwise any trade we make with that pick can't happen until the draft.

Also, you guys forgot the part in Cho's quote where he said that we're looking to address our rebounding at the trade deadline OR THROUGH THE DRAFT.

@BrotherDave. While the Biz debate is for a different thread..I'm diggin your starting 4 with Pek and Shabazz in the mix. Pek is way underrated and taylor made for our lack of physicality. Plus he is just plain old school to my liking. I don't need to say anything about Shabazz. Put it on the Chairman's board!

I think Cho may be trying to facilitate a trade to send Gay to Sac and bring Cousins to Charlotte. Maybe something like:

Cha In: Salmons (Sac), Hayes (Sac), Cousins (Sac), Tony Wroten (Mem)
Cha Out: Sessions, Biyombo, Diop, Mullens, Portland pick, Detroit pick

Sac In: Gay (Mem), Sessions (Cha), Biyombo (Cha), Det pick (Cha)
Sac Out: Salmons, Hayes, Cousins, Thompson, Evans

Mem In: Diop (Cha), Evans (Sac), Thompson (Sac), Mullens (Cha), Por pick (Cha)
    Mem Out: Gay, Wroten

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ar72e4j

That would leave us with a lineup going into next year with

    Kemba/Wroten (2,568,360/1,160,040)
    Henderson/Gordon/Taylor (4,267,426/13,200,000/788,872)
    MKG/Salmons (4,809,840/7,583,000)
    Thomas/Hayes/Warrick
    /Adrien (8,000,000/5,722,500/4,000,000/916,099)
    Cousins/Haywood (4,916,974/2,050,000)

    Qualifying Offer
    Team Option
    Non Guarantee~

Say the team doesn't pick up Warrick's team option, lets Hendo walk, amnesties Tyrus, and keeps Adrien, that puts us at ~42M. Assuming a cap of $60M, that leaves us ~$20M to work with. Add Al Jefferson (3/4 year, front loaded contract if possible) and Ben McLemore and now you're looking at a lineup of

    Kemba/Wroten
    McLemore/Gordon/Taylor
    MKG/Salmons
    Jefferson/Hayes/Adrien
    Cousins/Haywood

This lineup would also work well because McLemore and Jefferson would open the lane a bit for MKG and Kemba, while Jefferson and Cousins would also give Kemba a couple competent big men to finish his passes by actually putting them in the bucket.

That's what I would do at least. I think that puts us in the playoffs next year and in contention in a couple years. If you could somehow frontload Jefferson's contract, that will free up a LOT of money when Salmons, Hayes, and Gordon all expire, allowing us to sign Kemba and Cousins to long term contracts (and MKG when Jefferson's contract expires).

There's a better chance of me walking out my front door and getting hit in the forehead with a meteor than that trade ever happening! lol. Frankly, i call bullshit on this whole thread. Bonnell always brings up Rudy Gay anytime someone is suggesting the Bobcats are looking at trades. I think he's the one who's gay for Rudy. There's never been any evidence of the Bobcats wanting Gay or his contract outside of Bonnell suggesting it. Cho is not gonna take on close to 20 million a year for a guy who's not even a true max player when we have MkG who is still 19, and has tons of potential, on a rookie deal. The only way i could see us dealing with them is if they wanted to shed a ton of money before the new CBA kicked in and they traded us Gay and Randolph or Gasol and we sent them MKG,Hendo,Biz, our pick in 2013,the detroit pick, and expirings. Because they would want all of that. I don't think we'll make any trade before the deadline unless it's one of our expirings for a future pick. Muhammed and Mclemore both have a chance to be elite shooting guards and there are quite a bit of quality big men on the free agent market this summer. I don't think we would look at any deal for a veteran with a contract that big until after the draft and seeing who might come here via free agency. I don't think Cho would shoot himself in the foot like that. Rudy Gay will still be on the market in August. No need to rush right now.

all i got out of this was the possibility of a gay sessions lineup.
