I actually would like this. We'd be lucky if MKG turns into half the player Rudy is. Why settle for something unknown when you can get the real deal (not to mention we'll have him in his prime). If we make this trade, get a post scorer, continue to develop Kemba, and see what type of coach Dunlap turns out to be after he gets more experience, we could be a dangerous team for 3-5 years.

I believe that we could acquire Rudy Gay without including MKG though. I would love to maximize MKG's offensive strengths by using him as a big SG that's difficult to defend in the post. It would cause a lot of matchup problems for opposing teams.

How not to become a playoff team: Build around the offensive weaknesses of a 19 year old rookie SF.

Without a pair of forwards who can stretch the defense with long jumpers or corner threes all you're doing there is packing the paint and killing the team offense. Gilchrist has good size and a nice herky-jerky post game. Give some years so fill out his frame and refine the footwork and he's a legitimate post option in a traditional lineup.

I was speaking on how MKG would complement Rudy Gay if we were to acquire him in a deal. I'm sure that MKG will be a viable post option against small forwards because he's already shown flashes. Gay would be the perimeter wing while MKG would be the slasher. Both are capable of scoring in the post while Kemba's becoming an improved deep threat. With Kemba, MKG, & Gay manning the backcourt we can set our focus this offseason solely on improving our frontcourt in the draft with either Anthony Bennett or Nerlens Noel instead of trying the impossible to lure one of Al Jefferson or Paul Milsap in free agency.

Gay's primary value is as a slasher, not a floor spacer. He's shooting 31% from three this season, which is identical to what he did last season, and is only around 34% from three for his career. If Cho wants a big perimeter player to hit threes and pull defenders out of the paint, there are far cheaper alternatives than Rudy.
