This is definitely something we should keep an on..but it makes very little sense to do anything that doesn't involve some type of draft picks to the Cats. Higgins' suggestion that we look at anything is true, Cho wants to be involved in some degree with any talk, so he knows what people are looking for (and willing to give up)...that in turn helps him value things down the road.

It's a chess match and Cho is the computer.

Read last night Jordon and the organisation was told by scouts the 2013 draft sucks. Rumors have us trying to get our pick back from the Bulls. Im thinking Cho needs that top 5 pick now to pick up a proven talent. And is willing to give up a lot to get it. Weathwer its D Cuz, K Love . Gay , J Smith . I really belive Cho has something in the works . With very few Bobcats protected.

I actually really endorse the idea of trading for Gay. Sure he's paid alot...but I think that'll be okay. Our current only huge deal is BG who could potentially be in the deal. Tyrus can be amnestied and that would clear up alot of money. Diop will expire soon. Other than that we don't have that many deals that kill us. We could still manage to pick up a draft pick if we trade ours to grab Gay, etc and select a Center with that. We also would have the money to sign someone like Millsap during the summer.

I understand we're building through youth and it's a process....but we have to understand that it's extremely hard to do such a thing. OKC got lucky and had multiple years of top 5 picks....and their players turned out GREAT. We could make the 'technically' good pick every year and the players simply don't work out. And if there isn't a stand out player or two in the draft...I'm totally down with trading the pick. I'd rather have a 18-20 ppg player in Gay than to draft a guy who we have no idea what he could be and said player ends up being another average player.

To be honest, I'm split and can see both sides of the argument. For me I guess it depends on what we give away to get him if its worth it

I know Gay is good, but I'm not sure how we can continue our process (or something) of being bad in order to get good. With Gay we'd be a mediocre team again.

The silver lining in us trying to trade for Rudy Gay is that we are one of the very few teams that have enough cap space to absorb his overpaid contract with the opportunity to benefit from it since our best players and the core of our future are on rookie contracts. Gay's huge contract expires the same season that Kemba's extension would be kicking in. Theoretically we are the best trading partners for the Grizzlies if they do decide to part ways with Gay in which I don't see why not since they'll be seriously in the luxury tax department with a less than average attendance/fan base of revenue coming close but no cigar in a strong Western Conference. I think we should try to use the Orlando Magic as a 3rd team partner in the deal to get rid of Tyrus Thomas' contract since they have up to $22 million in TPE due to sign and trades involving Dwight Howard and Ryan Anderson.

I see the talent/scoring/athleticism/age factor of Gay, but don't see how he fits into our roster. I'm all for DMC or Hickson, but I just don't see how a future frontcourt of Gay, MKG, Bismack is doable. Even if Smack doesn't pan out, Gay and MKG seem very similar players (at least MKG's ceiling).

I think Cho is getting a little nervous about the possibility of becoming the next lottery ridden team like the Kings, Wizards, and T'Wolves to name a few, combined with the thought of losing our 2015 or 2016 1st rounder to Chicago if we don't start becoming competitive sooner than later.

People can say what they want about it being a cover, but I don't find it to be coincidence that Biz is seeing less time on the floor, Hendo as well...
