I've seen all kinds of references to the Charlotte Hornets coming back by players on twitter. I think it might actually be "the cool thing" to play here the first few years after the re brand.
I see what you mean. Especially the fact that there will be 3 new teams in the league next year I'm thinking those 3 franchises will have a lot of hype around their name come draft time & next season.

OP what do you expect? The Hornets brand fans are the Section 8ers of TWC Arena. They have no home so they have to sleep on Bobs couch. Without Bob they would have no arena or team to leech off of. They are still powerless 3 yeaers in. Well bring back the rape, get on your knees, beg harder! Cry louder! Hire more local hacks at the observer to champion your cause. Maybe in 10 years the city might even acknowledge the Hornets even existed. Go downtown, not a trace! The Hornets and their rapist owner are never coming back. Bobcats will celebrate their 10th anniversary next year. Bob and Bobcats nation team and legacy lives on!

The Hornets havent existed in Charlotte in over 10 years, after this season they will no longer exist in the NBA. Merely a "retro" apparel brand for the NO Pelicans.

I honestly don't understand getting this worked up over the brand, considering the Hornets have played the last decade in another city and the Bobcats have little to no history to speak of. I think the pinstriped purple-and-teals look better than anything the Cats have ever worn; but it's six of one, half dozen of another otherwise. I'll be here as long as Kemba (and now Jeff Adrien!) are as well.

of course you dont understand if youre just a player fan. the rest of us have been rooting for this team for a long time and will be as long as theyre here no matter whos on the roster. So it means a little more to us

not trying to come off as a dick but really a player fans opinion on this subject shouldnt carry any weight.

Think about it like this... If we changed to the Hornets, do ever think you'll hear another national talking head accidentally flub and call us "The Charlotte Bobcats"?

    No.

People recognize us for who we are and they've never been able to shake the fact that the Hornets belong in Charlotte, hence all of the countless times we have been called the Hornets as the Bobcats. Come next year, I'll be happy to know it won't be a mistake anymore.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a fan of this team regardless of what happens, but for the sake of meaning, purpose, heritage, and our franchise's future, I truly hope it has already been decided to switch back to the Hornets.
