We can eat up to 5 million right off the bat using the trading rules. For instance say:

Boozer/Hamilton for Henderson/Gordon

works and it cuts about 4.5 million off their cap instantly, not to mention the 18 million or so it'd save over the next 3 years.

OR they could send us Hinrich instead...push the overall savings to near 20 million (due to Hinrich's extra guaranteed year) and look to swap Hamilton to get them that extra couple million this year.

That's just in regards to US though. My post was concerning the idea that Chicago would wait til after the season to move Boozer in general. They most certainly might move Hamilton instead...but as cheap as Reinsdorf has been in the past it wouldn't shock me at all to see him dump Booz no matter how well he's playing at the moment.
