Hope it happens. We're lacking a lot in the frontcourt
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/2...lakers-in-bindThe Bobcats would be interested in having a conversation, sources say, but what could they offer beyond ball-stopping Ben Gordon and other fodder?
It won't happen, but I would hate it if it did.
Anyway, news is slow when we're this bad, so news is news.
In Cho I Trust

Geez. If there was a one-legged man with a bloated contract on the trade block right now, sources would say the Bobcats would be interested.

Be aware of this I see Cho at work. Minny is interested in him and as a have said before they have said that they would give up some of there assets to get Gasol. Don't be surprised if we end up with Pek and Williams and get rid of Portlands pick, TT, Gordon and Mullens http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ay6ptbp
Why for Charlotte, we get a C to play down low, rebound and score and a prospect in Williams. We take on Roy's contract just to make the deal work. Besides we would have to pay TT more than that and he's not playing anyway. TT wouldn't be as happy as he is now on the bench if there wasn't something working for him going to another team.
Why for Minny, they get there 2 guard they need to score plus 2 bigs to play down low that can make up for the lost of Pek and a pick
Why for LA, they get a backup Pg, a scoring 2 guard and energy of the bench. TT will play like heck for LA and will be under control because he will be with a supposedly contender.

What a load of bullshit. "We would be interested in having a conversation". LOL! Did Mitch Kupchak go to an unlisted number? The Bobcats would be interested in having a conversation, sources say

no way LA gives up the best player and we get back one of the better young centers AND the #2 pick from 2 years ago. and we get rid of 21 mil in salary next year. no way in hell. any scenario where this type of deal happens would require the lakers to get cap space/LT relief, at least one of williams or pek, a more well rounded team and a pick.
this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a2fs2vj plus us sending the lakers the portland pick and them sending us their 2nd rounder.
Chef
The #2 pick from 2 years ago is absolutely terrible and shows no sings of ever being able to improve beyond his tournament hot streak at Arizona. Derrick Williams is hot trash and Minnesota has been trying to unload him since halfway through last year.
If we could actually make that trade, it would be an amazing feat by Rich Cho. I would love to land Pek one way or another, even if that means we throw a lot of cash his way in free agency.
he did have 18/11 last night. i think on the lakers in mike d's system, he would get much better numbers and be more effective. you are right about him though. just think about the most recent #2 bust, thabeet. he is much much better than he is. he still has way more value than straight bust.
i do think your 2nd point is very valid. if you think you would want to max him out, do it in free agency and dare the wolves to match.
