I think that's too much to give up and we have MKG at SF
sent from the pseudo GM offices of the Charlotte Hornets
Guys I understand that Biz is a good defender, but thats all he does. He isn't as valuable as you guys think. Can't do anything else but rebound and block shots. You guys really think Noel will put up worse #'s then Biz his rookie year? Comon guys, we all know what separates Biz from other big man. His inability to catch the ball. Just a horrendous offensive player. I mean this kid didn't even make the RISING STARS CHALLENGE LAST YEAR! That class wasn't even that good.
The point is that what a guy can or does do at the college level isn't that important if it's unlikely to translate. Sure, if you let Biz do nothing but stand in front of the rim and challenge inferior talent going for layups, he'd block a ton of shots and grab plenty of rebounds. But he can't do that here.
Dudley is racking up tons of minutes at 2-guard this year. I think he would play there for us as well and would be an instant upgrade over Henderson. And is it too much? Henderson is iffy if he even has a future here and has back problems. Diop is expiring. Bismack could be good one day, but not in this system. The Portland pick will probably be somewhere in the 12-15 region (and I believe that the front office does not want to bring in two rookies in this class).
Gortat gives us instant credibility down low and Dudley gives us a veteran leader at the 2-guard spot while serving as a spot starter at SF. The only thing that concerns me about the deal is Dudley's contract length. Otherwise, I would do it.

Eh, Dudley's good for defense, a little bit of shooting, and locker-room chemistry, you aren't really getting an upgrade on Henderson.

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I see nothing wrong with having 2-3 young bigs on a roster who are just for defense and rebounding. Mix in Biz and Noel with some scorers, and you could have a nice group.
Yeah, we desperately need 1-2 scoring bigs, but that leaves room for 3-4 bigs who do other things.....
You can get away with one big on the floor who can't score the ball, you just park him weakside and let him focus on grabbing offensive rebounds/open dunks. Teams do that all the time. However, once you have two bigs who can't score playing together, and it becomes really easy for one guy to guard both of them and frees up a forward to double on anyone who gets near the paint. If you couple that with the fact that MKG can't shoot from outside, and you're going to have poor Kemba and Shooting Guard X facing almost constant double-teams anywhere inside the three-point arc. It'd make for a wildly inefficient offense. If Charlotte is committed to Biz, or decides to go with a defense/rebounding guy like Noel, they almost have to put a stretch-four on the court with them.
