Should we offer Nikola Pekovic a big contract this offseason?

Hickson produces way more then Pek

I think Hickson has played well for two reasons this year: 1) He reaps the benefits of playing alongside LaMarcus Aldredge. 2) It is a contract year for him and history has shown that a lot of times the numbers put up in a player's contract year can be a bit misleading.

Another guy we could look at this offseason is Thiago Splitter from the Spurs. He has put up some nice numbers this year and those numbers could go up if he is a more featured guy. Size is a concern though: 6'11, 245 lbs.

I disagree about Hickson being a one hit wonder
2011 -22 years old in his last full year in Cleveland - 14 & 9
2012- 23 years old last year in PDX ( omitting his Sac time as the org is a cluster F) 15 & 8
2013- 24 years old this year in PDX 13 & 11

all of that while shooting 50% for his career.

I'm not saying he's an All- Star but, he is a solid starter in the league with tremendous upside based on his age and he would be our best post player from day 1.
