If you revisit history, you'd know that Pop's squad the year he only won 17 games lost David Robinson and Sean Elliot to injuries. They got the first overall pick and used it to draft Tim Duncan. We all know what happened after that. Pop had already established himself in San Antonio's front office before assuming coaching duties. He's a much different case and far superior coach to Dunlap. I say winning system because those other guys all have won. And notice I didn't say Dunlap can't develop into a winner too. I just said the system he is currently using now is producing underwhelming results. He shouldn't be fired this year, won't be fired this year, and I am not in favor of him being fired this year. But this cult of personality around Dunlap that makes him immune to criticism is equally ridiculous to people calling for his head.

I posted stats that clearly illustrate we have awful team chemistry. We get out rebounded by a wider margin (despite not taking the least rebounds of all NBA teams, we allow opponents to take more), have the least assists, give up more assists to the other team, and have the lowest field goal percentage in the NBA. Revisit those stats you called "irrelevant" earlier. We all have seen this team play. The only consistent thing about our rotations is that Dunlap is consistently changing them. For all this talk of him being a "developmental" coach, I'd say not allowing team chemistry to develop is a pretty big problem. We don't have the best roster in the NBA, but it doesn't help when the guys still aren't used to playing with each other. Neither party should be completely blamed nor should either be free of blame. It seems like a lot of people want to give Dunlap a pass.
You've been a Bobcat fan as long as I have and a member of this board for longer. Please tell me when this fan base has not freely commented on what they are seeing on the court at any point in the season. How much leeway did we give Sam Vincent before labeling him as the incompetent crony hire that he was? (**Please note I am not comparing Vincent to Dunlap; I'm comparing the way we as a fan base were critical of them**) All my comments are based on the games I watch combined with the statistics that are clearly displayed online. It's not "silly" to be critical of a guy who treats our bench like a grab bag. You can't throw out new lineups over and over again throughout both the course of the game and the course of the season then expect compete at the level of other teams or to win games. Chemistry takes time to build and it is still something we clearly lack. Why else can other lottery teams roll over us? Yes, we do not have an all star team and are clearly not a contender. But we do have a roster full of players who are in the highest level of competition for the sport in the entire world. These guys aren't complete bums and half of them weren't even here last year. They shouldn't be the ones who take all the blame for why we are preforming at the level we are.
