Humphries is not going to help our frontcourt because he's still a offensive liability. He'll look like a relief for a few games, and then the majority of the fanbase will sour on him by wanting Byron Mullens back in the starting lineup. Meanwhile, our backcourt would be void of any player willing to shoot a three-pointer unless they have 8 feet between them and the defender.

Why are we assuming that Hump will start? Gordon doesn't start. I see no problem with Mullens and Biz starting with Hump and *cringe* Haywood getting big minutes off the bench. God forbid we have a bench that doesn't get blown out by the other team's scrubs.

sir are you serious? hes 4th in the league in free throw attempts and top 10 in percentage. you are dead wrong, and i never tell someone their dead wrong. shooting 41 percent for a point isnt bad.

He would come off the bench. Mully is more of an all around player and Biz is a much better defender. Hump would board and he would shoot face up 15' jump shots. If memory serves his more favorite shot is along the baseline but it's been years since I've really seen him play.

I can't stand Sessions either. I liked him at first but now I'm struggling to believe he was ever a pass first point guard. He's like a smaller, more selfish Henderson with a better handle and crappier defense.

I get absolutely fed up with him trying to outshine Kemba for the hell of it too.

Not a big fan of MarShon. Could do w/o him. I want this Gordon trade to go through soon thought. Hopefully they don't add Bogs to the trade, dude hated playing for us.

Why does it matter if we hold on to Gordon? Humphries is a 12 million dollar expiring contract next year as well. And neither one of them are gonna make this team good enough this year for it to matter.
I like the deal because Humphries fills a need for us,it frees up minutes on the wing for our young guys,it frees a spot @ the 2 if we decide to draft Muhammed/Mclemore or Sign Mayo/Martin,and it saves us 1.6 million over the next year. I would also argue that more teams are looking for young bigs like Humphries than combo guards like Gordon. I think Humphries might actually net us a better return in a trade next year.

The team doesn't need Brooks thrown in, they have enough okay-but-not-special guards as it is, even with Gordon leaving. A one-for-one trade gives you a clear nine-man rotation that's way more balanced than what the team has now. Kemba-Henderson-MKG start on the perimeter with Sessions and Taylor playing as your big-minute backups, and your bigs are some combination of Biz/Mullens/Humphries with Adrien as your fourth big and Haywood getting time against true big centers.

For what it's worth, a Humphries-Mullens pairing in the frontcourt would be the first time all year Charlotte could say they had a pair of bigs that can reliably get them twenty points a night between the two of them, reducing the need to go small so often.

I think we need to put ourselves in a position to land a key free agent this offseason and I think that trading Gordon in the offseason would be an easier task than trading Humphries. But of course, if we trade for Humphries, we would have the depth necessary to allow us to amnesty Thomas which could free up a sizeable amount of cap to get a free agent.

The first trade I would try to make would be to offer Sessions to OKC for Lamb and PJ3. I think that trade would fall in line more with what we are trying to do here. I just think Humphries is a redundant piece here. We can rely on Bismack to be our main rebounder, which is where Humphries excels. We really need a low post presence that can score the ball. Gortat and Pekovic would fit that role nicely at the center position whereas David West or JJ Hickson would fit that role at the four. If we are going to pay a big man $12 million plus next year, I would rather it be one of those four guys, not Humphries.
