I don't think it's because of what the Nets are asking for Humphries that led to this standstill, it's due to the lack of interest in a perimeter player. The Nets are trying to fill a hole in their starting lineup by trading for a "worthy" forward. Their loss.

Latest I heard today is talks are at a standstill. So be it. Much prefer that to making a deal Cho is not real happy with. I trust him to make a deal only if it helps us. Perhaps the Nets were just wanting too much.

Agreed. I'd like to have Humphries if its a cap-neutral swap for Gordon. Other than that, I'd like to look at other options like Mozgov from Denver or Gortat from Phoenix. Not sure what it would take to nab either of those, but there's more fish in the sea than Humphries is my main thought.

The Nets are exploring to see what they can get, I wouldn't say the Ben Gordon trade is dead but just on the back burner for now.

Bill Ingram from Hoopsworld thought my Sessions for Maynor, PJ3, Lamb trade was a "solid move for both sides". I am sticking to that trade. Someone get Sam Presti on the phone! I know it doesn't mean much, but at least people that get paid for following basketball for a living believes that the trade isn't that far off from being a good deal for all involved. Of course the main center-piece is Lamb for us. PJ3 would give us another front court option and Maynor could easily play the back-up PG spot for the rest of the year.

Of course this deal would probably mean we would have to release Adrian and still trade someone like Henderson to make room. If we could do this deal then trade Henderson, Diop, or Warrick, we should do it in a heartbeat! I never was, and still am not, a fan of the Gordon for Humphries deal.

Man I love Eric Maynor I would love to have him on our team. He's a NC native and I bet he would be happy actually getting good minutes and playing in his home state again. OKC doesn't even play him and the kid is very talented.

I don't think so. They traded James Harden for what amounts to Lamb and Toronto's first. You could argue that pick is the most valuable piece, but they're still going to need a SG of the future and I can promise you that isn't going to be Kevin Martin. Theey did it because they value Lamb to take over Harden's role and potentially Thabo's

Who knows Roon, you may be right and the trade goes ahead. I personally think we'd be HUGE winners in such a trade and would do it without a seconds hesitation ... I wouldn't be upset with throwing in an expiring contract to help sweeten it.

I mean:

Kemba, Maynor, Lamb, Taylor, MKG, PJ3, Mullens, Biz ... that's a significant amount of potential right there.

I think Humphries would thrive down there in Charlotte.. a big break from that fast paced NY lifestyle and a return to the type or lifestyle he was raised in and loves. Sometimes, you just need to be somewhere that makes you feel wanted to really flourish. He did excellent for the Nets last season and during the off season they spent so much time securing D.Will, getting Johnson and having Lopez back 100% that they forgot about how hard he worked for them.

Kris can head south and really shine with Charlotte, especially rebounding and getting second chance points. I think Charlotte is heading in the right direction and Cho will make smart decisions moving forward. Dont think this team will suffer much longer with him making the decisions
