This was a tweet sent out from Legion Sports a few minutes ago:

"Chad Ford points out that a three way deal sending Ben Gordon to Chicago, Carlos Boozer to Brooklyn, Humphries/picks to Charlotte could work"

This trade would be really good for us. Not only do we add Humphries but we get draft pick. I don't think Chicago would give us back our first, but if the trade going down it will be interesting to see what pick we would get.

That's interesting I like that a lot better than the first trade.

I'd be ok with that because it nets us a draft pick. That is never a bad thing.

This deal certainly ticks all the boxes for the Nets, and it's also a great deal for us. I'm not so sure about the Bulls though; they'll lose one of their two power forwards just to regain a guard they were not willing to resign back them. I know their motive is to save nearly $20m, but wouldn't it be a lot better for them if Charlotte isn't a part of this trade?

I normally only go to this when there's a new post so I didn't realize this thing got to 10 pages and it hasn't been moved to the trade board yet. Interesting...Swedd is off his game.

FWIW...from an "insider" on the Bulls' board. I put that in quotes because you never know, but I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that he has a couple of sources inside the organization:

They have Diop expiring deal but I see it highly unlikely that they would take on Boozer's deal without sending one long contract out in return. Hence Chad Ford and Gordon. I was told prior that they couldn't see Gordon returning because how bad it ended with JR. The only thing I can think is JR just really doesn't want to pay the tax and is willing to swallow his pride and take back Gordon.

I'd love to get Gordon back. The dude shoots 40% from three and it's not like he's just spotting up, he takes a variety of three point shot. I think Rose and Gordon work well.

The next question is we're thin up front, which is true but we are loaded at G with some expiring people, Hamilton and Marco. It's a lot easier to deal Hamilton when saving 3 mil isn't involved. A Gordon trade takes us out of the LT, so it changes what the Bulls need in return for Hamilton or what teams they have to trade him to. Now they can trade him for a exact salary they're sending out. That makes things much easier IMO..

Again I don't see JR swallowing his pride here, wanted to give my view on a possible Gordon return.
Also, I've seen no mention of a pick involved on their board...but that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

Random fact of the day: Kris Humphries was once ranked ahead of Michael Phelps as the best swimmer in the nation.

If Chicago is that desperate to unload Boozer, the Bobcats should think long and hard about just letting them have Diop's expiring and some other short term deal if we get our lottery pick back (I believe that we have enough cap space that we don't have to do a dollar-for-dollar match). I don't think Chicago does that, but they would be tempted.

A few days ago I would have said Chicago wouldn't give up one of its bigs (Boozer) for a SG because it really hurts their potential playoff run once Rose returned. However with Rose stating that he might not come back at all this season, moving Boozer to get under the luxury tax makes more sense. Even after that trade and without Rose, the Bulls should still be good enough to hold on to the 4th seed & get home court in the 1st round. A series win then puts them against Miami in round 2 which would only be competitive with Rose and Boozer still on the team and assuming Rose is 100% (probably not likely since it takes a while for a player to get his legs completely back from that kind of surgery). Management may decide to take a mulligan on this season, get under the luxury tax and look for a PF in the summer (draft, trade or FA) to replace Boozer and go all in for next season.

Everything I've heard from people like Bucher and Stein suggests that they really want Boozer off the team before next season because that's when his contract really starts to hurt with the cap and they may simply amnesty him. If that's the case, the news about Rose possibly not coming back this year (which seems like the right call) would put added incentive to ditch him now for expiring contracts since any chance of a magical playoff run would be off the table.
Reihnsdorf would much prefer to have Boozer traded off the roster than to amnesty him and still have to write the 32 million dollar check for 2014-2016. It also seems likely that Chicago would only be willing to part with Charlotte's pick if the Cats sent expiring or managable contracts like Diop and not Gordon who would still be a big ticket next year. Would it be worth 32 million for Charlotte to get back that pick they lost in the Thomas trade?
I hope so. They can always flip Boozer again when he's an expiring and grab another pick or two. However, as much as I'd like it, I can't see them carrying both Boozer and Gordon's contracts on the roster.
