Most Embarassing Night to be a Bobcats Fan is Tonight...

I grew up a huge Knicks fan, and this was one of my favorite moments. Chris Childs hitting Kobe with a 2 peice combo ha ha ha ha I love it... I am a Cats fan now, still love the knicks but when they play in charlotte usually stay home.

I couldn't go to the game, but watching it on TV I was so pissed. Fucking embarrassing! I was really ashamed. Every time they scored, the dam crowd roared. I do kinda get it though, MJ has put shit on the court. I mean after a while the casual fan says fuck it.

Well, last night's game was yet another showing of the away team dominating the arena... however the crowd was smaller than the LA game so the 'Cats fans were able to combat them a bit more. I was a lot more vocal than usual last night to try and help sway what few Charlotte fans I had around me to get into the game. I had a few loud Celtics fans around me (mostly just talking shit about the Bobcats and our players) so it was nice to be able to give them a smile as I left the arena.

It was a big win at home for us and one I think we all as fans needed after the loss to LA.

The thing that pissed me off the most about last night was Jason Terry trying to "pump up the crowd" during Kemba's free throws.... thank god he drained those and got the home crowd cheering and Celtics fans exiting the building.

What a night. I'm still smiling.

Hell yes. I was chanting and singing leaving the building. Waving to every Celtics fan I saw and wishing them the best on their 13 hour drive back home (Yeah right). Even though they have like a 22-7 record against us and we really had very little room to brag, I was relentless and for a reason.


I know thats a bit of a sore winner mentality... but in my opinion thats the only way we are going to squash out the home field advantage other teams get in our arena. We are going to have to start being outright dicks to people. Booing when they cheer, applauding their hurt players, just out and out being dicks. Whens the last time you saw a Patriots jersey at a Philly game? Answer is never, because people aren't dumb enough to try to wear it in a Philly stadium and that did not come about because the Philly fan base killed them with kindness either. I know it goes against our southern hospitality and many of us just don't have that kind of venom in us, but unless people find that being an opposing fan in our arena is a recipe for terrible time, it wont stop. A quick beer to the back of the head and that douchebag sitting courtside at the lakers game probably would have been a little more hesitant to jump up and down on the court in celebration right?

PS. Drives me nuts to see fans holding up KG signs and jerseys. That guy is a massive piece of shit, how could anyone cheer for him? He made fun of Tim Duncan's mom after she died of breast cancer for god sakes. That alone should make everyone in the world hate him.

I was so pissed when he was waving his arms up to try and pump up the Celtics fans.... Thank godness that the Celtics fans chant didn't take over as Kemba was shooting the FT's.

When the Lakers/Heat/Knicks/Celtics come to town there are always going to be a lot of their "fans" in attendance but we should still hold down some sort of home court advantage.

I agree that we should be giving the away team fans some hell, but ultimately actually winning games like last night are what makes that happen. The Bobcats have to play well if they want Charlotteans to pay money to watch them. I love this team but I am not going to sit here and say that I don't get why people are uninterested. They are a bad team. Sure they are in the process of rebuilding and I think that with time they can become competitors but you can't expect the casual fan to know or even care about that.

I was at the game last night, and the Celtics fans were loud, but I don't think it would have been an issue in a full house. If the empty seats would have been filled with Bobcat fans, you probably wouldn't have really noticed the Celtics fans. Just got to get some more wins, and everything will be cool.

A friend of mine talked me into going to last night's game, thankfully. It was sorta bad but not much worse than any other time the Celts come to town. I agree with Bucko, it was about the same amount of C's fans as normal, just not the same amount of Cats fans that usually turn out for these games over the last few years, hence the empty seats in the uppers.

I was really proud of the Cats fans though. They brought that rowdy that it didn't sound like they brought on Friday vs. LAL. Our fans fought back against the green at every opportunity and were rewarded with a win and the resultant, deserved trash talk. I'm about as non-confrontational as it gets but I couldn't resist thanking C's fans in my section for coming and please do come again; we'll be playing Detroit next Wednesday. I gotta say it was really cool to see all that pent up frustration come out...the usher in my section was high fiving, vigorously I might add, everybody as they were leaving, yep, even C fans. Thankfully it didn't get out of hand that I saw, but you could tell some C fans were a little shaken by the reception they were getting leaving. In that regard I agree with Mustachio. I don't think we need to resort to Philly fan tactics; but making opposing fans a little uncomfortable is a great thing.

my seats are in the lower level and I was surrounded by Celtics fans... It sucked! Atleast we won and didnt have to hear any Celtics chants as we were leaving.

That's exactly how we treated those assholes from Buffalo during the Canes' championship year here in Raleigh. They were unbelievably BAD, but after we showed them the door for the most part we gave them the "bless your heart" treatment.
