I think trading MKG would be foolish. The Pistons aren't trading Monroe and the Kings/Sonics aren't trade Cousins. The kid is 19 years old and has a lot of potential. We shouldn't give up on him just yet. Your idea of trading him because we MIGHT get a top flight talent like Wiggins is very dangerous. What if we trade MKG then miss out on the guys you mentioned. Let's draft one of them first and then trade MKG. If he's not as good as you believe we will still have a high selection whether he is on the team or not.

A lot of young players take time to develop. MKG has the will and the body for it. He just needs the experience now. One thing I hate A lot about modern sports is the fans giving up so fast on players and coaches. Most great players and coaches are not just great from the start. Kobe averaged 7.6 PPG and 15.4 PPG his first and second seasons. I am not saying MKG is of the same caliber all I am saying is have some patience.

we were probably too late anyway, I think people don't view MKG highly that much anymore either so Cousins is not a very likely trade. I will say that it is quite depressing that we thought it would have been a bad trade for us to add value onto #2 to get Harden. what a no brainer it is in hindsight
If MKG ever develops even a halfway passable jumper he will already have more value to a playoff team than Hendo because of all the ways he effects the game. Whoever we get in the draft the next few years is who we get. To even think about trading a guy who we just invested the #2 pick on at 19 years old before he has at least 3 years to develop would be insanity. Back away from the ledge! lol.

And i'll play devil's advocate if you want. What if we just drafted muhammed or mclemore, signed pekovic this summer, and then just went after iggy in free agency in 2014 if we don't get wiggins. MKG could still be a valuable energy guy off the bench if we're making a playoff run. There's always options. I'm sure Cho can figure it out.

Oh and for the record: Wiggins is 6'8 and possibly still growing. He has the skills of a wing player, but he could certain play the 4 like LBJ has been if he develops as advertised. So it's not inconceivable to have Wiggins,MKG,and Muhammed/Mclemore all in the same lineup. Considering we're in the same division as the Heat,i think it would actually be smart. But that's a LONG way off.

The only thing worse than this MKG trade talk is the reasoning that it makes sense to trade him in order to replace him with Andrew Wiggins, a high school senior who hasn't even decided what college he is going to yet. Considering we have always been vocal when it comes to defending the team over the, "Could Kentucky beat Bobcats" bullshit, I find it discouraging that some would argue in favor of Wiggins over MKG when the former hasn't proven himself beyond the showcase tournaments of AAU basketball.

Another note. MKG has struggled the past few months, there's no arguing that. However, we've seen significant improvement from Walker this year, a player who this time last year was undergoing many of the same struggles MKG is going through. We have to be patient.

Let's trade MKG now because we might possibly be able to get a better guy two years from now.

Uh, yeah. We are talking about a top 10 shot blocker in only 26 mpg, right?

i understand the sentiment, but i think he's going to be OK in the long run. i have more of a problem with our taking the rawest of the raw prospects two years in a row, our being patient with their growth for several years, and the very real possibility that by the time they are worth a crap, they will be unrestricted free agents and go elsewhere.

people like to say we are emulating OKC, but they didnt take projects. we've taken huge gamble upon huge gamble, and there are high probabilities that at least one of these gambles will fail.

    Gambles:
    1) that a high profile free agent will come to Charlotte when we have cap space.
    2) drafting Biyombo, betting he can develop into at least an average NBA player.
    3) hiring Dunlap, an unproven assistant on a mediocre college team who has very limited head coaching and nba experience.
    4) drafting MKG and betting he will develop into an Average NBA player.
    5) that both MKG and Biyombo will stay Bobcats after their rookie deals.
