Really? We're having this thread already? The guy's nineteen and on the worst team in the league. If a trade arises where you can make the team better by moving Kidd-Gilchrist, then fine. Charlotte doesn't have a single player who's untouchable (I really hope nobody's going to embarrass themselves by bringing up Kemba here). However, trading a guy so that you can have a small chance at drafting a guy who might be a superstar (remeber when Harrison Barnes was going to turn the league upside down?) a few years down the line is just plain stupid.

You aren't going to get an equally talented young big so the idea is pointless
Don't think this has been said yet so I will shoot.
You are gonna have to be really HIGH to SELL on MKG so early on.
He has shown us glimpses of greatness on both ends already. we never set picks or run plays for him and he has a terrible jumpshot. His jumpshot will be fixed and all of a sudden he will blossom. I have a lot of faith in MKG. Best all around defender on our team and its not close
I would only trade him for a younger NBA player and thats it!

sad to see people already giving up on MKG halfway through his rookie season.......all i'm gonna say is remember he's only 19....25 and 12 twice, only other player to do that before their 20th bday was Lebron James.....
It should also be noted that he's had an eye injury(which is not good if you're already a bad shooter and trying to correct it) and he's had the concussion. He's been as advertised on defense as far as i'm concerned but most of the box scores lately have only had him shooting 4 or 5 shots a game. It's kind of hard to "break out" without the ball in your hand. This young man has done everything asked of him. I don't think it's fair to blame him exclusively.

no one is giving up on MKG. the issue is that everyone should want us to land Wiggins or Parker next year in which case MKG would immediately become a backup. You dont want a recent number 2 overall selection as a backup. You trade him for another young asset or high draft pick.
