I think MKG is the perfect example of why the NBA age limit needs to be extended to 2-3 years from high school removal. It is not fun watching players struggle that should still be in college. Just my opinion.
If this team gets built correctly MKG won't ever have to kick in more than 14 or 15 a night. They need a franchise or near-franchise level scorer at the two and they need at least one big who can give them 18-20 a night. Kemba's the third option, MKG cleans up whatever needs cleaning up. Hoping that a guy becomes something he isn't is just silly.
One thing for the skeptics to understand, we know he will never be a Lebron, or a Durant, or Wade, Kobe, or Jordan, or whatever. He's not a dynamic scorer like that. What he is is a connector, one who is highly skilled and has a ton of talent and promise. And we'd like to see that develop and blossom here, especially since he is a down to earth, loyal, hard working, classy guy.
And those monster games show that he does have that ability to take over a game on both sides. Getting more consistent is the key.
A further observation - here is a great comparison for him career wise, one that Jordan even himself made:
Age 22, 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 46% FG, 17% 3FG
Sound like a Hall of Famer? Or maybe he should be upgraded or traded for a chance at a player that you might not even get. Well, lets give him another year:
Age 23, 14.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.9 steals, 48% FG, 27% 3FG
Seem like even an all star? No, not quite. Lets give him some more time because we see flashes and promise:
Age 24, 16.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.6 steals, 49% FG, 25% 3FG
Age 25, 17.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 2.4 steals, 52% FG, 31% 3FG
Age 26, 21.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.9 steals, 51% FG, 20% 3FG
Now perspective on MKG:
Age 19, 9.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, .8 steals, 46% FG, 22% 3FG
So, MKG is already, at 3 years younger, doing many of the same things if not better than a young Scottie Pippen in their respective rookie years. If the Bulls had gotten rid of Pippen, maybe they don't get all those championships.
MKG was never drafted to be a Jordan. He was drafted to be the ultimate complimentary player like Pippen, who can score, rebound, dribble, pass, and defend. Yes we need to draft a star, but giving up on MKG because his FG% is low and he is going through a slump is very short sighted, especially when considering the character and work ethic he has.

I'd say QCthundercats ended this thread. Lets all move on.

I know MKG is averaging 9 & 5 but he's showed signs that he will be good in the future. No disrespect to MKG but he isn't meant to be our best player. The player we draft in the next two drafts will be better than MKG honestly. Not saying that's a bad thing just saying that kidd gilchrist is not better than a mclemore, Muhammad, Parker, wiggins, randle right now. I understand he's not playing like a 2nd pick but we are getting a top 3 pick for the next 2 years so its not like MKG is our only hope. As talent comes to Charlotte, the better kidd gilchrist will get.
