I would prefer to keep Sessions. Our backup PG/SG is averaging 15 points per game and 4 assist. Rocking a PER of damn near 20/5. I won't speak for him and say he is happy in that role, but he sure isn't complaining.

He's 26 years old, on a really really good contract and he is happy (and more importantly really good at) his role. I think he brings a confidence to the team, gets along well with a rookie coach and has roots in the area.

Obviously if you get some crazy haul from another team he isn't untouchable... but I think he has more value here than he could realistically bring in. Plus I just think he seems to like it here, and I hate rushing people out who embrace us.

According to reports the Celtics are making Fab Melo available in search for guard help. Not sure how we would make a trade with them work, but if we were able to acquire Melo and a pick from them that would be awesome.

Problem is they are offering Melo to avoid giving up a pick.

This is what happens when you have a good GM. We have a guy on a great contract who is valuable here while other teams are willing to surrender real assets to get him. Cho can sit back and let him be productive in Charlotte, but if someone offers an asset that might be contributing to the team in 5 years then he can pull the trigger. It's nice to have choices like this instead of trying desperately to deal overpriced veterans past their prime. Personally, I would love to see anyone on the roster other than MKG, Bizmack and Kemba traded for future considerations because that's what this season and next are all about, so go in all the way. But it's nice not to be under pressure to deal.

On the other hand, I think what's going on with Henderson is a cold splash of reality as far as what Cho has to work with on this roster. Apparently, Henderson can't even draw a late first round draft pick from a contender or fringe contender which is pretty horrific considering he was probably the best player on the team last season.

Yeah, basically Melo is the pick since he's a rookie. I'd make the deal in a heartbeat and I doubt that it's been offered to Charlotte as Melo for Sessions straight up. I believe Cho would have jumped on that. Real centers on rookie deals always have trade value.

Boston can't make that trade because of salary constraints. If Charlotte winds up with Fab, it'll probably wind up being Melo, Barbosa's contract, and the cash to pay Barbosa's buy-out for Henderson.

Yeah I don't want to trade Sessions unless we get a screaming good deal

I agree I wouldn't trade Sessions unless it's a good deal for us. If we can't trade him for a good deal between the deadline and his contract ending next year, I would like to see him resigned. The guard on the roster I would trade straight up for Melo would be Ben Gordon and they won't do that. At best I see Melo as a Kendrick Perkins type player.

Default AtL starting to pi$$ me off

The entire league is waiting to see what happens to Josh Smith before they make any move..
AtL keeps dangling him but won't play ball with anyone. They aren't willing to pay him a max-contract, but are acting like they are trading a max-contract player away. You can't have your cake and eat it too. No one will give you a landslide of talent for a player, in all likely-hood, leave them in a year for Brooklyn or whoever..

I hope AtL is stuck with him and lose him in FA for nuthin next year.
