Charlotte's struggling to find a team willing to take Gerald Henderson for a first-round draft pick, sources tell Y! Sports. He could stay.

I hated to see DJ go, but we made the right move. Kemba is the PG of the future for this team, and Sessions is a very capble backup. If Sessions was traded, I'd be good with DJ coming back if he understood he was the backup who could expect 20-25 minutes per game or could be expected to start if Kemba was out. But dont see that happening. But I miss the young man. He played hard for the Cats every game.

Not sure he would resign with Charlotte when contract up. Not sure how he feels about the team and his role here. May lose him for nothing. But Cho wont make a move unless it is in our best interest.

It's not so much about how he feels about his role and all that, but that Charlotte's overloaded with guards and is likely to take either McLemore or Shabazz in the draft. If Cho doesn't get something for Henderson now, Gerald probably leaves for nothing this summer because it doesn't make sense to throw money at him.

my guess is that if we really want a mid to late first it will cost us hendo plus taking back an equal salary that is at least 1 year longer.

Have to trade Henderson for something before the deadline. Unless they are planning to draft a big with their first pick there is no point in keeping Henderson.

I would assume Cho has spoken with Hendersons agent in order to determine what kind of money they would be looking to receive should he stay. I would also assume that Cho is unwilling to pay what they are asking since he is trying to dump Henderson now instead of getting nothing for him. There is no way Henderson plays here next season under the qualifying offer as somebody will swoop in and pay him much more than that. That leaves trading him for whatever Cho can get as the only option other than losing him for nothing.

Since most of us agree our first pick will almost certainly be a wing player there is no reason to spend a ton of money on Henderson so he can sit on the bench behind what will probably be a superior offensive player.

I think they have no intention of signing Henderson to what the market would bear, especially when they have Taylor performing well at what he's being paid and the likelihood they take a guard in the upcoming draft. It's wise to see what they can get for him as opposed to just letting him walk. But there's nothing wrong letting him walk and gaining the cap space he'd leave. We'll have to sign Byron and I'd rather take some of the money we'd have to pay Henderson and re-route it to Byron. Cho's not going to just take whatever someone offers back just for the sake of not letting Hendo walk for nothing, nor should he.

Right. We don't want to shoot our self in the left foot just to say we didn't shoot the right one. If we don't gain something somewhat useful, it's worth it to just see what happens in free agency. Not many teams are going to give up much for Hendo given he's a three month rental and not necessarily a difference maker.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

I was hoping to see us come out of this with a guy like Hickson or Jordan Crawford. I'd be ecstatic.
