If you were the Hawks would you accept the crap that Brooklyn will trade you? I think I could find a better deal than that
Nah, not redundant... We could go small with either of them at the 4 and Granger has a VERY different game/skillset than MKG. OR, we could move MKG to the 2 if we trade Hendo or don't plan on re-signing him. I love that idea...
BUT, if it were up to me, I'd go for the Lamb/PJ3 trade that one of our members suggested in the Gordon/Hump thread. That would be ideal. Tons of potential in young possibly core guys still on their rookie contracts. That is what we should really be after as we continue to rebuild.

How would you guys feel if we had to give away PDX's 1st rounder to rid ourselves of BG?
For example, BG & PDX 1st for an expiring contract ( it's basically the same trade we made with Detroit but, we give a worse pick than we got from Detroit.
I would prefer trading him for Humpries as that helps balance our roster but, if that or a simlar deal fails, do we really want a cancer taking up 13 Million in cap space next summer? Could we do more with $13M in free agency than we can do with a potential 13-20 pick from PDX?
I think clearing BG and amnestying TT gives us $ to sign 2 Max players for 4 years...
Imagine
PG- Kemba
SG- Mclemore
SF- Josh Smith
PF- Mullens
C- Pekovic
6th man- MKG
7th man- Sessions
8th man Biz
I know that moves Biz and MKG back to the bench bu, frankly at this point that's where they belong as they continue to develop their skill set and they would still contribute good minutes. The 4 years Max doesn't really hurt our long term situation of resigning our young talent as Kemba will be due his extension and overlap with the big contrast of Smith & Pek by only 1 year.
This would kill next years tank for Wiggins though.

if they wanted out of jeff green that means they are looking to rebuild which means kg and pierce are gone because ben gordon is a terribly redundant part on their team as it is now. i would do jeff green and jason terry and their 2014 unprotected for diop and sessions. saves them an ass ton of money and i think jeff green is not as terrible of a contract as the rest of the league does.
A couple things from Woj on Twitter that could affect the Cats:
-Three teams that league GM's on phones believe will make significant moves before trade deadline: Atlanta, Milwaukee and Phoenix.
-Boston's active on several fronts, including discussions on Josh Smith. Brooklyn is solely focused on making a Smith deal.
The Phoenix one interests me as I'd like to turn Diop's expiring into Gortat. Perhaps that's asking too much, but they're looking to do something big, why not let that be part of it? Also, if Brooklyn is looking to get Josh Smith, they may need a 3rd team to help. We may be able to step in there.
Who knows, though. Time will tell if we do anything. I think they'll make very effort humanly possible to move Gordon, but he may be more valuable this summer as an expiring.
I think we should go after Gortat and sign him long term hes a very good shot blocking PnR center....and he has Jordan tatted on his leg so maybe Jordan being the owner pays off for once....
(Did anyone hear the TNT crew discuss Jordan using his name to get big name FA's to visit? Shaq shitted on us pretty hard.. oh well)
